The game has slowly but steadily been losing it's identity anyway. What's it matter if we don't have ascendant shards? Prisms? We no longer have a wide variety of mods apart from rebranded charged with light either, they might as well remove everything old destiny 2 had and completely debrand the game.

5 RepliesI love seeing people seethe about a currency, which to most of us we don't even notice because we have so damn much of it, is getting removed. Costs for everything else isn't increasing, you get showered in glimmer if you just play the game normally, and new players don't have to deal with insane legendary shard costs anymore, but people are crying their eyes out about it. It's -blam!- hilarious, peak destiny community.

1 ReplyI have over 40k on my main, but I've started a new account for my son and it really is hard to come by them early on. But, Bungie should be looking at other parts of the new player experience as far as catching up goes. Just the number of hours in lost sectors getting all the exotic armor is insane. The exotic weapons, holy crap even worse with how long it takes to get exotic ciphers. And then ascendent shards for everything. The exotic weapons, the ritual weapons. Unlocking all of the aspects and fragments. It's a LOT of catching up for new players at this point. I can undertand why so many are turned away. Legendary shards is just the tip of the iceberg.

4 RepliesThe only reason shards are being removed is that older players who have tens of thousands of them, like myself, have way more than they can actually spend, while newer players can barely scrounge up a couple hundred to upgrade their gear. It's just an unnecessary barrier
-
1 ReplyBungie wants to cut down on materials in our inventory, yet they're perfectly content with the seasonal currency taking up seven slots.
-
-
2 Repliesdon't give them ideas. bright dust will be next.
-
They should delete everything, that would solve the player's engagement issues.
-
Every change they make has one purpose. Feeding their insatiable greed. Eris' dialogue this season is taken directly from corporate headquarters! Tithes, more tithes, more tithes.....
-
Yeah, changes like this are only driving away players even more than they already are. Our work is being thrown into the trash, only for Bungie to gain a tighter grip over currency and make us grind even more.

2 RepliesEdited by IDicebergEGO82: 9/28/2023 4:26:26 PMIf they’re doing this they will need to at least quadruple our glimmer piles and accumulation rate. And also they are trying to force us to play more bs activities to acquire glimmer. I see this being a huge community problem in the next couple seasons.

1 ReplyLet’s remove hunters too please
-
You'll do whatever they want

Edited by Fatality: 9/28/2023 6:30:06 PMWhy would you remove the only currency that makes legendary engrams meaningful, if you get rid of shards then at least give an option to permanently delete all your sh***y drops that you call "loot" . A wet tissue is more fun than your sh***y reskin world drops

1 ReplyEdited by DoNotResusitate: 9/27/2023 10:38:50 PMBungie needs to realize people don't want to farm public events for glimmer and no amount of arm twisting from them is going to change that. My guess is they'll double down on it. Then people will get tired of it and stop playing and then they'll be falling all over themselves apologizing and telling everyone that they are listening to us now and then they'll fix it. LMAO same old bungie they just can't stop shooting themselves in the foot. The thing that surprises me is that they just can't seem to imagine a world where people think that glimmer farming sucks

24 RepliesHorrible take with no solution. All games have economy, they are simply fine tuning it.
-
Welcome to the cycle. Bungie is eliminating LS to balance the economy. This day 1 vet will drop all my LS into cores. And the cycle continues. Bungie let me know when you're going to cancel cores. Thx.
-
Yeah. All I really need is that Vanguard Elite Business Black card with frequent flyer miles and up to 2% cash back. You know how many miles I accrue traveling from the tower to a planet to do 1 patrol, then the helm, the farm, Calus' armpit, then back to the tower to collect my 3rd pinnacle helmet that day?
-
Not glimmer but maybe prisms
-
5 RepliesI don’t mind the removal of shards too much so long as I don’t have to start glimmer farming if that becomes the new economy. Currently I can just trade shards for glimmer so it’s no issue but if the new economy means i have to run public events or lost sectors etc to farm glimmer I’ll be done. I’ve done my grind, I’ve paid my dues, if they force me into boring farming of lost sectors etc I’ll just check out, my patience with this game and this company is wearing thin as is.

2 RepliesThere are people I've seen with over ten thousand legendary shards. People just aren't using them. But people are using glimmer and the other materials. Your take is beyond asinine.
-
Edited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 9/28/2023 3:18:12 AMYeah.. I use them every week to buy glimmer, alloys etc (can't be bothered to farm story missions/master wellspring for crafting materials). May as well remove all the nonsense. On top of that you should only have to do the campaign once on each character and allow players to share power level among all 3 characters... grinding monotonous numbers sucks. We already have artifact level, gear power level shouldn't be a thing (pick 1 or the other) Also I wish they'd stop drip feeding seasonal fill in the box quests... it's so lame.
-
16 RepliesLol how is it losing it’s identity? Every game has a basic economy. Shards hold back new players from getting things. Cash what you have in this season and next. You can buy things that are still relevant with your shards.
-
Agreed, remove all currencies and replace them with just one. I suggest quails eggs.
-
Glimmer & ascendant shards have inventory limits, bud.
-
There was a baby in that bathwater....

10 Repliesthey are removing shards to help new players that's all , all to make the'''''' grind'''''' even more casual frendly
