Master Lost Sectors should give guaranteed exotic armor.
The rng for this system is way too high and layered beyond making ends meet. You have rng for getting a drop, rng for which piece out of the 10-14 options you get, also rng for the stats. There is not enough time in the 24 hour period to get what you need, and not only that but people don’t have the full 24 hours because of work/life we would have to dedicate at least 1-3 hours of our time if we have it. The ends does not justify the means, it feels neither rewarding nor fun to run 5 of these in a row and not get a single drop on platinum. Please reconsider this. Not having a guaranteed drop is a disrespect to our time, resources and effort that we put into your product.

Just leave engram inventory mostly full (like always keep 9, so only one slot is open). On a day with an easy lost sector, fill up your last engram slot, then farm the easy lost sector for lots of exotic engrams which will all go to the postmaster. Leave them at postmaster until a future day when that day's lost sector is rewarding whichever armor slot you need. Decode one of your postmaster engrams and you'll get the type of armor you need (i.e., you'll get that day's armor slot, not the armor slot that was being rewarded on the day you actually acquired the engrams).

1 ReplyI use to run these on Master and it’d be really difficult. The rng wasn’t that bad for me but it was still bad. I ran the legendary difficulty for two hours the last time it was arm day and I got 4 new exotics in 2 hours. It was MUCH easier and actually quite enjoyable. I’d suggest going that route.

Drop protection on the other hand would be something more likely to be considered - current estimate for drops is ~33% - scale it up by 5-10% per run and it'll pretty much kill off the long streaks (10+) of not getting anything
