Orbs are terrible in every way, but the most obvious complaint: it feels bad to stop shooting guns and wreaking havoc with abilities to pick up a blob and throw it awkwardly with the worst trajectory I've ever seen. Please don't make orbs the new thing. Also, I don't know a single person who enjoyed throwing snowballs, tangles or Warmind cells, and the Ruinous Effigy isn't used outside of patrol - so I have to ask: who thought this was a good idea? In conclusion- please stop with the orbs that get picked up. Artifact mods should be fun and powerful. They should not litter the ground with pointless blobs that I accidentally pick up instead of reloading.
