The MIDAS Multi-Tool is extremely weak in PVP for an exotic scout rifle. The range or damage needs to be adjusted upwards. And will you are at it, the chaperone needs to be dialed down. I have players running clear across the map while i am shooting them. Who then kill me in one shot from really far away. Not even remotely balanced Bungie.

3 RepliesMida isn't weak. YOU are weak. Glad I was able to clear that up.
Coming from a guy with the most Mida kills in the game
-
It's actually a good weapon though, one of my faves, the mobility boost helps a lot and it just feels smooth

Edited by NotCreative123: 8/20/2023 3:42:48 PMAs someone who has found great success maining Mida in PVP, I can confirm that you're 100% wrong. It's definitely the best gun in the game And the Chaperone is basically a regular slug now.
-
If you’re letting a Chaperone get close enough to kill you while you’re using MIDA then you’re doing it wrong. Get better at spacing your targets so they can’t close that distance. If you know someone is going to play aggressive, then back pedal and bait them into the open. Use the range and radar to your advantage

4 RepliesHonestly if they just added kinetic tremors it would improve it in pve without making it OP in pvp. Also I've mentioned this in my own post, but mini tool and drang should benefit from the exotic damage boost vs minors and increased heavy ammo drops when your run these pairs together.
-
Give this kinetic tremors then I might use it...I mean if that's the catalyst for it
-
1 ReplyIf you like running Scout Rifles in PvP, Hung Jury SR4 (Nightfall) is strong and reliable. The Adept version (GM Nightfall) is even better and I frequently see it used in Trials. Try running Knucklehead Radar and Hung Jury SR4, if you’re a Hunter, to mimic the MIDA Radar perk.
-
Pve vise i prefer magenura and firefly combo for the catalyst ( which has used to oxygen sr3 special perk combo)
-
I have use it today while I love the gun. I haven’t used it in a while. It’s just one of those exotics that’s fine. If anything it could use a little less zoom. And a little more range and stability. This makes the scoop less bouncy when you get shot at. So it would be a little better in upclose combat. I mean the ttk is not fast so would this might give it more practical use for it. Realistic on the majority of maps deadcliff/javelin/endless vale these maps have 1/2 scout lane when you work for it. But then again bungie has promoted they don’t want scout rifle to be good or meta. So they want it in a spot that just fine. The only thing I can say is the legendary counter parts often come with some sort of damage buff. They also have the lightweight buff. And often less zoom and more stability if you not encounter no distractions. But it’s fine

2 RepliesBecause Bungie intentional keeps all scout rifles weak in order to force more aggressive play. MIDA was persistently one of the best weapons in the game, until Bungie kneecapped SRs.
-

2 RepliesI find it surprisingly good in comp but lacking in QP.
-
It was the best scout in the game in D1 because of the knockback effect it had on enemies. Then they nerfed that. I don't want it to be better though. At this point the sound of it makes me cringe. When I hear it I know it's a noob using it.
-
Let it cycle through all champion mods. For fun, should also get kinetic tremors.
-
Add adaptive munitions to the base weapon, disruption break to the catalyst. Multi tool, see?
-
4 RepliesEdited by Olórin: 8/20/2023 9:44:53 AMSince its called "Multi-Tool" why not just literally make it craftable so you can customise it however you want? Give it some A-S tier craftable perks for both PvE and PvP?
-
2 RepliesI used it almost exclusively in Iron Banner a couple seasons ago. I didn't think it was that bad, but I'm a casual, so what do I know?
-
It was meta early on so they refuse to fix it.
-
3 RepliesEdited by ZigZag: 8/21/2023 5:30:42 AMFor PvE they could give it interchangeable champion perks. Then it really would be a multi tool. Unstop, anti barrier or overload. For a PvP bump give QuickDraw and snapshot haha.

4 RepliesDo we really need another MIDA meta?
-
1 ReplyI honestly don’t think so. Mida is THE lightweight scout. It’s stats are actually on the high end for its archetype. It’s fast, snappy, has high AA and gives 2 solid passives. Catalyst even helps with the main thing it struggled with - flinch. In PvE though… outside of being a kinetic exotic it basically does nothing important.
-
I have over 600 kills on mine, it's not bad, it's not great, you just have to run a certain style to make it work.
-
4 RepliesIt's weak because you can ads with radar, you want strong and radar? Then it would just get nerfed
-
It should work with Amplified tbh. Like instead of getting more handling/reload or movement speed, Amplified should grant it Arc Bullets or something. Then you could have 2 Light-elemental weapons at once (not counting specials and heavy weapons).
-
It is a very good gun, but you are right. Very weak for an exotic. I think they should give it explosive rounds and osmosis. But that might be a little too much lol
