For those who have subjective learning absorption and retention, and may have subjective difficulty past revivable matchmade Nightfall, is there a way to filter out KWTD from fireteams? If not, is there a point where one's limitations are insurmountable and dungeon/raid (mostly for quests) should be written off?
This started to pop up after I got dragged into the Deep Dive quest for the exotic scout rifle a few weeks back -- the team blindsided me with the detour and it's an understatement to say it didn't go well. (I thought we'd wind up at the usual Servitor downstairs, not a Torminator.)
Started to look up "Carve a path of Violence" after, and it seems that everyone demands the Divinity (which is sourced from a raid) while not really listing any other alternatives.
This circles back to everybody demanding KWTD and the question of where it becomes a waste of time.
To put it bluntly, a sectional carry may be needed by necessity (not choice) in the worst case, anchors may happen if someone is taking time to absorb, but if everybody is demanding KWTD...

2 RepliesTo put bluntly - everyone's expectation of KWTD is different. Some people just want you to have read a guide, some want 1000x clears of said activity. When you join a group from LFG Fireteams, get on the coms and discuss.

1 ReplyFrankly mate although this place is en echo chamber for negativity the great majority of the player base will teach a new exotic mission/dungeon or raid to 5-10 people before moving on to only wanting people that already KWTD. But also KWTD is the exactly what it stands for they're only asking that you know what needs to be done, not that you be an absolute master of the activity. All it takes is a quick trip to YouTube for a guide on the activity you're trying to do if you want too and don't know how. Almost all Destiny encounters are some variation of : collect buff, shoot guy. Or pick up object, throw/deposit object, shoot guy. If you just look up which variation it is and stay calm and collected you'll be fine. Final thing even if you have watched a guide and forget a part just be honest and ask for clarification. The guy in my team that owns up to a mistake after a wipe and asks us for clarification I'll do my best to help. The guy that sits there saying nothing while consistently causing issues and doesn't reply when we try to ask them what they're doing and what they need help with will get booted.
