We arrive on scene to all our missions and activities with full abilities, except for our super which has to charge from nothing. This makes sense from a gameplay standpoint, but what’s the stated lore reason?

8 RepliesThe super charge is stored in the balls.

2 RepliesWhy don't ships just drop us off exactly where we need to be instead of making us walk through an entire level to our destination?

1 ReplyEdited by UnspokenONI: 6/13/2023 12:58:21 AMThe better question is why don't we have ammo on our ships

1 ReplyThe energy gets used up during transmat, with the extra stored up and saved in the ship for when you need to transmat back to it
i just made this up
1 ReplyEdited by Sturm with no Drang: 6/13/2023 9:34:21 PMUnless if I’m mistaken, the super does actually charge up and there is an audio cue for when it gets filled, but whenever a player is in a noncombatant zone/stance it stays greyed out like it’s locked. Far as lore wise, not much reason to channel Light into something so concentrated as a super when you’re out of combat. Realistically, using Light can still drain and tire a Guardian to a good degree. It also wouldn’t be particularly safe to charge up around non-combatants on account of safety. Normal people, regardless if they were human, exo or not, are just as susceptible to the dangers of Light as our enemies are, just the same as how during the Neomuna training montage the Guardian manages to disintegrate themselves while still trying to tame Strand.

3 RepliesWhat do you think makes your ship fly ? Space majik?? It runs on your super.

They say there are no dumb ideas……however, this is one of those🤣🤣

Edited by Animal Mother: 6/14/2023 1:00:19 AMWhy don’t ships shoot? Why can’t we fly our own ships? Why don’t sparrows shoot? Dregs have sparrows that shoot… Why can’t we drop bombs from our ships? Why are ships useless? Why are sparrows used just for getting around?
Because Bungie is lazy af
Whenever you load into a new destination, you have full ability energy but your super needs to charge. Also looking at the replies, I think people would do well to remember that something are just gameplay features and the lore and gameplay don’t always align.
-
I don't think lore needs to explain such a thing, honestly. As you said, it's just a gameplay feature.

7 RepliesThe better question is why is it that various characters can spam supers and swap subclasses without losing their ability energy. Ikora, Zavala, Osiris, Cayde, Savathun, lucent Hive. All of them can do it.

1 ReplyI was in my ship chilling. Why would I charge up if I'm chilling?
-
Like that’s actually a really -blam!- good point.

1 ReplyEdited by BOSSNONO254: 6/13/2023 2:43:35 PMI’m not even sure why we don’t have unlimited supers. I’ve seen Ikora pop into a whole different subclass with a whole @$$ super charged and ready. Seems to me I’m going to have to siphon some light from ghost to have unlimited thunder crashes.

Because our supers are fueled by war. Same as xivu arath.
