Crazy idea, PREPARE servers BEFORE reset.
You could literally take the game down for 24 hours BEFORE a new DLC or season drops and people would not care at all whatsoever. People don't want to play late into an old season anyways.
How about you frickin PREPARE patches before reset? Theres players from all around the globe, not just NA. Reset already is late for a lot of us. Expanding downtime 50 times due to incompetence and lack of preparation ruins launch days for the other half of the globe.
I am ready for all the "just play the next day" comments. I don't care about your opinions. I want to play when its new. This is unacceptable and happens consistently. They are way too big of a company for us to let this lazyness and incompetence slide.
Like are these clowns for real? Are they surprised by technical difficulties every single damn patch? These issues happen way too consistently to be surprised by them still. Actually provide some quality work for our money.

8 RepliesNo amount of downtime prepares servers to be inundated the way they are on big content release dates. It's okay to not understand how it all works, but throwing a tantrum about it helps nobody.

People lose their minds everytime its down for a couple hours. A whole day and they would be making posts about lawsuits, making death threats, and filing FTC reports or some stupid crap.

1 ReplyIt's painful to see so many people have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to patch deployment. You can run a deployment though a sandpit environment and it'll deploy without issue, but deploy into PROD and it doesn't always go to plan. The number of times I've had a 2 hour patch window extend to 5+ hours sh1ts me to tears. One guy said Game as a service, in an ideal world hell yeah, just need to convince Bungie to put their hands in their pockets and invest in cloud.

I'm PST and by the time I'm home from work and everything settled it's usually 7pm before I get to play. I think I did Day 1 Witch Queen, Day 1 Lightfall, and Day 1 Root of Nightmares but that is from luck. Yesterday my little one was sick home from school, then I got sick in the evening and still haven't played. I'm not too concerned seeing all the server issues, same I saw with years of GTA V online. All I want to know is where to find Good Boy Protocol!

Bungie are dragging tiger along and have been for two decades ! There is not a lot they can do now apart from ban aiding as they go . The servers are ready to implode …..surprisingly didn’t have one issue today that was the biggest surprise of the new season 😂

I agree man. Other games I play get patched and I have no issues logging into them on reset.

I'm with you on that mate, I wouldn't mind a 24 maintenance downtime if it meant that I didn't have to wait 30 minutes to an hour because of server congestion or day 1 bugs.
