I’m not one to typically make posts about the state of crucible. I acknowledge that I’m of average skill and probably won’t get better. That being said, the melee hit registration in this game is laughable. At least once a match, sometimes more, I’ll punch, stab, or palm a low health enemy and hit nothing. The game sees that I’m attacking an enemy because it lunges me forward and targets them, but I for some reason stop right before it connects. I’ve seen it with supers and sword attacks as well. I’m surprised no one talks about this but I’m hoping bungie sees this post. This is getting ridiculous.

Once a match? Lol it happens in practically every melee engagement I have. And that's because at a certain point you start playing players who know how to manipulate the terrible melee detection to their advantage purposely causing rubber banding or of course they move so darn fast, that it's like their hit box hasn't even caught up with them so even though your melee should have connected, cause that's what the visual on your screen implies, you end up whiffing it. This is one amongst the absolute eye sore of a list of issues in pvp that literally don't have to be a problem.

Bungie explained this during the last season of Witch Queen's Ara explaining about how they are gonna fix it during season 21 so if nothing is fixed there then that tells you their promises are not meant to be kept.

Its been an issue since D1, its never been fixed and I doubt it ever will be.

Had issues with Hammer Strike, no only does it take them down to a PIXEL of health in most ocasions, it swings randomly or to an enemy I wasn't aiming for when i needed to target a particular enemy. With the Charged Melee from the Consecration, I SOMETIMES get kills, but most of the time, the enemies either take zero to no damage, or survive yet again with a pixel of health... The PvP experience tonight alone for me has been complete Doo Doo, like "some of these cant be that 'good' and still be legit". Tonight i had 1 good match, the rest? Complete ShIte... Pretty sure some are using XIM or something because there's no way you can instant lock-on to me THAT FAST on a controller... pretty sure at 20 you turn at the speed of light and is somewhat too fast for HUMAN reactions, so...

Same category as melee weapons requiring ammo for regular attacks. Power attacks, sure NP use ammo, but regular attacks, WTF.

2 Replieslook at boss while holding sword, hit attack button, character executes a 180 and flies away from intended target. Same thing when playing titan and trying to punch things.

This is a constant problem in this game. There is nothing left but to get used to this problem.

I have been noticing it more than ever in pve recently. I used to notice it maybe a a couple of times a night but I would say my melee swung and hit but missed at least 20 times in one activity last night and that is a common thing now.

My fav is yeeting myself off the map in pve, because I clearly didn't want to melee the thrall right in front of me.

I was in a private match with a friend and literally recorded my sword swing going physically through his character model….. no hit detection lol.

It’s called an air slap. They still use that technique in Hollywood. These guys probably think they’re making a movie instead of a videogame. 🤣 Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!🤣

I'm going to love losing 15% of my melee energy next season when my shoulder charge hits an enemy dead on but does no damage. This is an issue in PvE as well.
