We gotta talk about skill brackets in pvp. My wife got 5 out of 5 roll autumn wind on her account that I was dying to try out. So I played 3 matches of IB. Holy crap do people play soooo much differently. She's in the top 34% and I'm in the top 10% for IB. I noticed several things I wanted to talk about. First, in my bracket it's almost all gun play. Very little abilities used compared to hers. People mostly stay together in packs of 3-4 and sit back in head glitch zones and team shot. When someone is by themselves we push very aggressively. Titans are very popular with barricades in my bracket. Aim is good but not anything insane mostly. Now her bracket. Everyone stays separate. Tons of abilities and CRONUS ZEN is rampant, like at least 80% of both teams using it. No flinch, all kills are headshots and they never miss. They're playstyle are HORRIBLE. They single themselves out, push when weak, no peek shooting, oblivious to radar, and warlocks are 4/6 on both teams with the biggest ability spam cheese builds. There's no way that people that play this unstrategically and isolated also have 95% headshot ratings on every gun no matter what range they're at. An smg at near optimal ttk all headshots at 40+ meters out and takes no flinch from an explosive round staccato? Ok. I've experienced the average player skill bracket and it's a problem. I get it. Like they know they'll never go flawless on their own so they get Cronus for a chance. But when there's no loose sbmm in trials and I go up against these players I now see why I lose to them. I always thought it was crazy that in my bracket of quick play I'm almost always top of the leader board but in trials I can't go flawless in 147 matches of solo que. I'd like to suggest sbmm in trials. I know it sounds like a punishment to try hards but it's actually not. Average players are cheating their butts off. I'd take my sweat bracket over the average pool every day of the week. At the very least people in my bracket be warned. They're not good. They're just cheating. Use that against them. Don't look at their trials kd. Look at their quick play ranking. If they're average get ready for a cheater and don't get in a primary gun fight with them. They'll win. Use abilities or special weapons. Their reaction times are slow and they're very oblivious to flanks. Shotguns are the bane of their existence. Edit: wow everyone is trying to really make this about trials. The reason for posting this was to shed some light on how bad the cheating is and to give people a heads up in trials when matching the "average" player. I made a suggestion which is only my personal opinion that id rather play against sweats than cheaters. Y'all need to chill I'm very happy with the changes coming to trials next season. I'm not trying to shake things up.
