Been playing since season of splicer.
I'll assume elemental wells and elemental armor mods were removed because people didn't seem to understand how to build..
I think It would have been much better if I could choose wether to keep using the old armor mod system or new lightfall system per character.
I really do not like this new system. The flexibility gone of putting any combat style mods on whatever armor piece, puzzling armor and chasing rolling orbs, the extra perks gone like stat boost or extra ammo reserves on heavy handed. Loved using heavy handed for melee builds, 1x charged with light? Instant 50% melee energy back when doing charged melee.
I honestly liked the building puzzling part with armor archetype, able to put only same archetype mods. It was a nice little challenge.

...the strategic element has left the game... Very very sad. ...and due increased difficulty we are forced to use efficient builds... And so you find more and more identical armourbuilds... Its so boring.

2 RepliesThey got rid of the old system to not confuse new players. Not saying it was the correct decision, but that's why. They didn't want new players having to figure out Elemental Wells AND warmind cells AND charged with light AND armor charges. I liked wells better too, but oh well. We were chasing those around like we chase orbs now anyways. It's all the same. We just had better mods back then that did a little more.

I like this system better because A) I can bring elements of Wells into PvP and B) gameplay loops are streamlined and readable for everybody to create.

My take on it is Orbs should have an instant application and the current way the appear. .. Ability kills spawn orbs as it currently do.. But WEAPON Kills that create Orbs . Should be applied instantly to you. Just like how the Weapon Charges were prior to LF. That would solve the whole, needing to run out into death to collect an orb. You keep the Pickup orb perk that gives 2x the same and only applies to picking them up. ..gun kills only can give one every time.

I’m not a fan of it, the old system just needed a few things tweaked. Orbs should at the very least drop at our feet
