Light Fall is in prime condition to be year of the skip.
Reading through the update from Joe gives me zero hope for this next year. It sounds like they are basically going to sell players $100 worth on content that they will then be asking you to play test for them so they can figure out their own game. Destiny 2 peaked and now has nowhere to go. It sounds like we are going back to Vanilla where the game is super grindy, no one is powerful, and there really wont be much new content. They seem lost and paying them to find their way is not the move. I will check back in with Final Shape.

So, enhanced adept weapons. - More direct ways of getting red borders. - Renewal of old strikes (that are GOOD) that need some touch ups. Personally, I just really enjoy shooting aliens and being challenged. I would much rather Bungie touch up and improve existing content they have rather than ditch it and make completely new stuff. Seems like some great changes. Although there are bad ones as well. - Only 1 new crucible map and 1 old. - Likely only 1-2 new strikes? (could be fine depending on how good these are) - No gambit news. For those who like it. - No LFG until last season of the year. Idk. Lots of quality of life changes are coming with this expansion like usual. I feel like the doomer mentality is a little silly at this point as it's all this forum has been for the past 6 years.

1 ReplyNothing of what is incoming is really making me want to play more. To each their own, but all I heard was more reasons for elitism and having to grind your -blam!- off. And I don't care how hard they try to mix things up, in the end everyone is going to play the min-max meta option because why wouldn't you? Especially with content frowning on just having fun with sub-optimal options.

It's something that entertains you in your spare time, that's it. It shouldn't be more important to you than that. If I can spend 100 bucks on a dinner that lasts 45 minutes, I can spend 100 on a game that'll give me 100's of hours of gameplay. Or, don't. Play something else. Don't play games. Build models, cut those little trees like Mr Miagi or something. Jesus

Red borders in every activity plus god rolls in every [i]other[/i] activity. Grind for artifact level, grind for light level, grind for resets, grind for seasonal challenges. The game has literally never been more grindy than it is right now. Going back to vanilla D2 levels of grind would be a freaking blessing.

[/quote] No, it's not that they seem lost, they are literally lost and they have been for years but more so since Activision left them. Hell, most of the key devs left this business years ago and it's right in front of everyone's eyes why they did. Looking back since D2 launched the game has been through hell, and that's because they don't know what they are doing without someone like Activision babysitting them. This business on their own has literally proven that, that Sony needs to step in and get some actual developers that know what they are doing, period.

I honestly wish I hadn't pre-ordered the game, or at least could get a refund, but it's been too long. Lesson learned - never buy pre-orders. I usually don't, but I made this one exception and now...ugh. I'm usually a go with the flow sort of guy. But, I'm also a bad player, and I simply can't handle the level of difficulty thrown at me in this last story mission. If it's going to be this difficult going forward, I literally won't play because I don't find it enjoyable. I just wish I had known before I bought the pre-order when the expansion was announced.

Eh, scratch the too powerfull part and im with you. Can't blame you or anybody for your worries with destiny, but lightfall won't be that bad. Im fully expecting it to be garenteed better than beyond light, but worse than rise of iron. I usually don't have expectations at all. Low as mine sound, i wish i could say lightfall will be better than taken king or forsakken. If it does, we all need to leave bungie alone for like a month or 2.

Destiny 2 peaked in forsaken and hasn't been good since. Destiny 1 ended in an amazing spot and they dropped the ball with d2. All the same mistakes. Learning nothing.

2 RepliesI cancelled my pre-order and started playing that stupid game called Fortnite. And suprise suprise - it is suprisingly enjoyable once you stop paying attention to the colors. D2 feels more like a job nowdays - do that, finish this, repeat again... PvE is boreness, PvP is toxicity. I enter in the forums only to have fun reading some of the posts. But really guys, if you dont like the game try smt else - there are suprisingly good alternatives out there :)

And even if I wanted to be ok with that, the state of the game's stability is not something I'd be willing to fund if that carries over into lightfall, and it likely will.

6 RepliesI didn’t buy Witch Queen, and as a PvP main, I don’t see much to be excited for in this expansion. Certainly not enough for me to justify spending $60. As long as PvP is F2P, I’ll stay right where I’m at. Sure, I can’t play trials, but that’s no great loss.

Everything that has happened in WQ is a taste of what's to come. Apparently they dont have enough people working on and testing to make this a complete game made for the players. I have been a clan leader/admin for years, but it's a pass for LightFall. It's a wipe for subclasses probably going to make us "re-learn" them again as in the Red War. Its truely is a new game. The infestation is on.

4 RepliesUhm... my feeling about Lightfall is that is going to be an Expansion on a similar line of Beyond Light. A lot of experimentation, many things are probalby not gonna work at the beginning and will require time to be fixed properly, we will need to adapt and get used to the changes the game will go thorught [i](many will like them, other will hate them as usual)[/i] ecc. About the quantity and the quality of the contents, it's all to see. Time will tell. I'm honestly approaching into Lightfall with a mentality of [i]"no expectations"[/i] at all. I'll will semply enjoy Destiny being Destiny as usual, I'll play with my friends, some Seasons more, other less. I'll probably take some pauses now and then. Basically the same I've done in the last years. I'm not particulay excited, but not even demoralized at the point to skip the launch as I did for both Beyond Light and TWQ.
