I feel like having to rely on post master for inventory does not make sense and I think the 250k glimmer cap should be uncapped like many other games where you can accumulate infinite amount of gold/money. I'd like to be able to farm activities like grandmaster nightfalls for as long as I want and not have to upgrade exotics to hoard ascendant shards in my vault.

Bungie is not going to remove material caps. From a game design perspective, uncapped materials would be terrible, at least for a game like Destiny.

3 RepliesWhy are there materials in the 1st place? Couldn't every single currency in game be replaced with only using glimmer? By removing the glimmer cap and things costing different amounts? Some small amounts master working a weapon, some more master working or crafting armor or weapons. Oh you want this and you don't have enough glimmer, go play more, dismantle stuff, do harder content it rewards more glimmer.

Yes it is idiotic and yes I completely agree with you. Losing materials you HAVE to store in postmaster because they've put an illogical cap of 10 for golf balls and music balls is idiotic. I've lost my stacks in postmaster several times and each time I curse Bungie and wonder what's wrong with them. I don't hoard that because I need them all the time... I like the OPTION to use them whenever I want. The caps are insulting and Bungie knows it but they just want the hamster wheel going. They run this game from a spreadsheet so they'll only listen when players just stop paying and then they'll do something about it. Bungie staff get this fixed... it's annoying.

2 RepliesThey want you to play the game, they'll never do that.

14 RepliesEdited by magister1001: 1/28/2023 9:20:52 AMIt’s an artificial constraint to increase grind. Agree 100% that all these caps being removed would be great. Anything that’s numerical should be a very simple fix. Inventory is different. Blues as glimmer will fix most of the issue once it is in place
-
I agree but Bungie do not, they want you grinding the game all the time. Not doing a lot when it’s easier.

5 RepliesWhile I agree that they're putting absurd caps on some materials and it's stupid that we can't put some into the vault, I think there's a limit to what is sustainable for the game. I'm no expert, but I think that basically, when numbers get too high, it puts a strain on the engine/servers/whatever. Basically, the game can't support a number of resources past a certain point. Heard someone say that before, might be wrong.

It’s their idea of build crafting. Hahahahahahaha! Welcome to hollowness!

Amen!!!!

1 ReplyI 100% agree, having a cap on almost every material is unacceptable. Like for example before the changes to blue engram drops, if your entire inventory space was full, it’d go straight to postmaster. And then guess what happens if you got blue engrams in the middle of attempting to get more important materials? Postmaster full and then those materials you’ve been trying to grind for are gone. Not acceptable at this state, even though apparently blue engrams are more likely to not drop for you anymore, that’s beside the point. Please just give us unlimited caps on everything to make the gameplay easier.

Yep there should be no caps at all.
-
2 RepliesAre you kidding? Do you realize how much it would cost Bungie to have someone change the 2 in the 250,000 glimmer cap to a 9? That would probably take twenty minutes. Let's get real here.

Edited by BrandishedChaos: 1/28/2023 7:00:19 AMHonestly after the other day, I'd guess the game would be down for a few days if they removed caps. I'd love higher caps, but I'm just not sure if it would go well at this point.

While we're at it lets have infinite vault space as well
-
There should be no material caps of any kind. They only exist to waste your time and force you to spend your hard-earned materials on garbage.
-
And/or allow us to put ANYTHING in the vault. And reorganize it too.
-
At least let us put our Shards and Prisms in the vault like other games with upgrade materials
-
Only caps that need changing are seasonal energies and glimmer Imo

This sounds like a setup for an episode of fairly odd parents. Or Venezuela lol

I’ll add this too because I forgot to mention it. I’ve had multiple times where my inventory was full as well as my postmaster was full without letting me know (I wasn’t happy and I’m still not). I’ve done lots of nightfall runs grinding cores, prisms, shards, etc, and because I kept picking up blues, as well as the fact that I kept running out of inventory space, I had no choice but to sacrifice those items. That really makes me frustrated because I think there should be no limit on any kind of materials, and I hope Bungie can fix this.
