We need a better way to get combat style mods.
At the moment, build crafting is basically inaccessible for new players, as the only way to get these mods is to visit Ada every single day and HOPE you eventually get the mods you're looking for. This system desperately needs to be changed, it's a massive deterrent for anyone trying to get into the game, and it locks people out of doing high level activities with their friends.
Bungie, please give us a way to get more of the specific mods we're looking for. Mod progression shouldn't take entire seasons, it would be much healthier for the game to see it brought closer with the rest of the game's progression systems.
I enjoy playing this game, and I really just wish I could play the activities my friends are doing without being severely disadvantaged.

I've been trying to get some people to play that never tried it before but it's an uphill battle because of reasons like this. Remember when unlocking sub-classes needed time gated runs in the Well at the Dreaming City? I managed to get one friend to unlock his Warlock subs but he then refused to do any other classes because "doing that just to get my class things was super annoying, I'm not doing it another bunch of times". Now you go to Ikora and press some buttons, but now Mods instead of "just dropping" like they used to, they are time gates, and once again, he's annoyed, and I have not been able to get him to play. Oh, also, he came in when Forsaken came out, so he bought that, and he was also a bit miffed finding out the Forsaken parts are GONE.
