Came to Steam from Playstation

I started playing D2 on Playstaiton. I have since moved to PC. My son now uses my Playstaion account, but in my cross save setting the Playstation account is my "active" account. My understanding of cross save is if I disable cross save I will have to go back to using the original characters I had on PC of which there are none. When I moved to Steam I just immediately enabled cross save. So I guess my question is if I disable cross save will I have to start from ground zero on steam and lose all my progress since all my original stuff was started on my Playstation account? That's my understanding of it and if I am correct is there something else I can do? My son has shown interest in the game, but I do not want to lose all my characters and progress on Steam by disabling cross save.

Hey there. Your characters here are PSN ones, being shared to Steam via Cross-save, so they are the characters that show up when you launch the game on Steam and on Playstation. If you disable Cross-save, those characters will go back to being PS-only, and whatever you had on Steam before you set Cross-save up, will be what you see when you play on Steam. That sounds like it will be just a blank account, from what you've said. So yeah, you're right about what will happen. No there isn't really anything you can 'do' about it, there's no way to copy or transfer any characters from one account to another. You'd either have to keep cross-save active, or break cross-save and have a clean start on Steam.
