The Vanguard Ops playlist doesn't feel rewarding in comparison to Seasonal battlegrounds activities mainly in my personal opinion, because of the loot disparity between 1 chest and the bonus chest on playlist battlegrounds.
The Vanguard playlist feels least connected in its activities, taking from the battlegrounds systems you could earn a currency from night falls of any difficulty. The secondary chests would have reissued random role gear of old planetary, season or vaulted areas, something for vets to hunt for and a system friendly enough that new players could find interesting gear.
The currency would be used as follows:
After completing a nightfall you earned vanguard cypher keys, you load up the Vanguard Ops playlist and get The Glassway a strike you're not fond of but you finish it, opening the normal Vanguard chest at the end you get a the playlist smg but you can open a second chest and you get a reissued mercury pulse.
The secondary chest would have gear that is planetary specific.
This rough idea for a system is not a new idea. It's a Destiny 2 version of skeleton keys from Destiny 1. I do know this can sound like rewards feedback but I'm looking at the idea as more of a self feeding gameplay loop.
Thank you for reading this block of text, hope you have a wonderful day

Here's a thought... They have a bunch of retired Nightfall guns now, right? Put them as drops in the regular strike playlist.
-
Add skeleton keyes and strike specific weapons and armour. Its as simple as that
-
Dear gods no, not another currency.
-
This entire game feels unrewarding ATM. It's so bad Iiss exotic guns dropping from engrams again in the wild. D2 needs some three of coins mechanic, some reason to run vanguard ops for hours . D1 Got a LOT of things very wrong but they got this part right.
-
5 RepliesRemember in D1 when we had strike specific weapons and armor? Pepridge farms Remembers.
-
2 RepliesNothing in the game is rewarding anymore. Besides forums and…. EVERVERSE. She gets me all excited every Tuesday reset. I log in just to stare and ogle her wares harder than a junior in Amsterdam’s red light district before remembering its real money to play dress up on my digital toon and no place to wear it
-
None of the ritual playlists are rewarding at all. Haven't been for years. They are continually getting more behind on things they need to fix
-
Playlists are just for bounties and pinnacles tbh. Get in and get our asap 👍
-
4 RepliesStrikes are F2P.

1.) Making a game is hard. 2.) Manage your expectations 3.) Over-delivering is really bad, so it's better to recycle content What will the next installment be in Bungie's saga of excuses?
-
Your first mistake was expecting rewards on Destiny 2
-
The vanguard playlist is free content and only really provide a place to complete bounties. As for the rewards you are looking for, those are in end game and master content.
-
That would be over-delivering. Bungie has a strict no over-delivering policy.
-
Vanguard ops and gambit need serious attention.

19 RepliesWhen they nerf your loot all over the place, this game will never be rewarding. LMAO!!! It’s a joke! Laughable! I call it a fishing game. It’s all bait. Reel you in, throw money at the screen. Then nerf! Bwahahahahahaha!!! LMAO! Laughable!

5 RepliesI think we need the removed strikes back. There needs to be an algorithm that prevents the game from putting me back into the same strike I just left because I stopped at the tower for 2 minutes. Strikes could use some kind of procedurally generated changes to fluff them a bit. I wouldn't mind having Override in the strikes playlist. The battlegrounds in there are wearing a bit thin. Rewards from Zavala for running strikes shouldn't feel like literal garbage. It's a rare day that I cleanup the engrams from him and get something that makes me pause for even a second before sharding it.

5 RepliesI’m hunting the new stasis SMG. It’s a fantastic weapon and I want a better roll. That in itself will have me running it this season. With that said they need to add and refresh it with LF.
-
1 Replyvery little in this game feels actually rewarding
-
Well… yeah. I don’t think it ever has in destiny 2

Edited by tonycawley: 12/14/2022 7:49:52 AMThey don't want strikes, crucible or gambit to be particularly great because they're f2p. Seriously, that's the reason. You pay for seasons, so in the seasonal content it's more rewarding. The above mentioned activities, being free, don't warrant financial investment therefore they're left to rot.

if some of the older weapons from dares of eternity got switched to vanguard i might actually play it, it would also make sure that the dares of eternity activity doesnt have such a bloated loot pool making it impossible to get a good roll of any weapon you want
-
And now clan rewards are junk just legendarys
-
It's F2P. It'll never be rewarding (after 3).
-
That’s really the only reason why I only go there to test new builds. If there was a way to get focused loot or at least something with good perk pools then it would be better, but the only truly rewarding thing is hero (maybe legend) or higher nightfalls.
-
There's a reason why all the year 1 strikes are done in around 5 minutes.
-
It’s not just vanguard ops. Everything needs to be addressed with just how bad loot drops are overall.
