12 RepliesThe replies on this post are hilarious. Everyone defending what Bungie advertised and saying it’s not a scam. I agree with both points. They did not say they would have dedicated servers and they are not “scamming” anyone. However, nobody said the server situation is good. They would rather lick up whatever Bungie throws their way, instead of standing up and saying the game runs like shite. Ever go to your menus, just to wait? Ever try to preview a shader, but just stop because it won’t load? Ever try to load into the tower just to stare at a black screen for minutes? Ever get booted from strikes, crucible, gambit, hell any content in the game? Baboon, marmot, weasel, cat, beaver, chicken, moose, endive, honeydew, olive, sheep, stingray, etc. etc. they have more names for error codes than weapon types. People need to wake up. Demand more out of the entities you support.

Do you know what dedicated servers would do? It's not as much as you bozos think.
-
so do people just not know what words mean anymore, or is it make up your own definition year? there is no scam, there was never a plan for dedicated servers. they aren't trying to steal money from you. the present a product for sale, the choice to spend is yours.
-
You aren't multiple foxes,I feel scammed
-
I don't think you understand what a scam is, but go off kween.
-
1 ReplyIt’s not a scam. But not using dedicated servers in 2022 is definitely a sign the very structure of the game is outdated. But definitely not scamming anyone.
-
Its been this way for 7+ years. Maybe stay away if its that much of a concern?

How to tell you don't setup your own connection in a single post

1 ReplyPvE games don't need dedicated servers, and D2, despite what some people think, is a PvE game with an obligatory tacked on PvP mode, there simply because "it's expected to be there". Class dismissed. Enjoy the rest of your day!
-
2 RepliesOh no…….. anyway.

Totally agree 100%

Not only are you semantically wrong, you're principally wrong. 2head of the week award winner!

Edited by NotCreative123: 11/14/2022 1:01:29 AMI'm a US-based player, and the only times I notice significant lag are when I play with my UK friends Would dedicated servers help with lag caused by differences in geographic location? I'd rather Bungie focus on creating new content than reprogramming everything to work with dedicated servers. New content will bring more players which will improve connections.

That's not what scam or steal means. Bungie, to date, never promised dedicated servers. That would be great but it was never promised. Take responsibility for your expenses, they can't steal anybody's money. And ironically Event Cards are the first time I ever seen the free track being better than the premium rewards so I dunno what type of person is actually paying for that.

How is it a scam when Bungie straight out said destiny 2 is not on a dedicated server? You know it’s not on a dedicated server, yet you still bought the game, bought the expansion, but the seasonal passes, and bought silver? They didn’t scam you, you’re just not good with your financials.

2 RepliesBungie can be blamed for many things, but this isn't one of them. Ever since D2 was announced they made VERY clear that the game wouldn't be having dedicated servers.
-
No scam we all just keep playing 🤷🏼♂️😂

2 RepliesBreaking news... Dedicated servers are not a magic fix to all issues. All to often I have played games with dedicated servers and guess what I still see people lagging and I and others get disconnected. Dedicated servers help but they can only compensate so far the true issue is that players just see Internet speed and even then expect just what the sale's man said. They don't look at things like NAT and signal latency. Most don't even look at what their true Internet speed (and remember up and down speeds need to be considered separately). They run wifi and expect perfect signal in the back yard. They don't follow basic advice set by platform and Internet providers and do a regular and very basic reset of your router and then clearing your system's cache to refresh your Internet connection. No they blame a game and a game studio for all the problems. So start looking at home folks before you start blaming others.

Dedicated servers are the best place to start, having nearly every melee and short range weapon fight end in trades is a shocking way for the game to play. Start with the infrastructure of the game and then worry about balancing.
-
Dedicated servers...won't fix Destiny 2 core problems within PVP the game has always been based on a p2p hybrid network mesh infrastructure. It's an absolute house of cards. It's never worked correctly and never will no other AAA game out there is currently running on this garbage system, and Bungie knows this..the system is over a decade old now. Then throw in geographical location, differences in latency due to ISP speed U/D limitations. And now mixed lobbies with different tic rates ect...it's a huge failure.. so in short it all adds upto TTK values going out the window, radar becomes all but useless..players start teleporting around the map during a match The entire backbone of PvP would need to be removed and rebuilt from ground up..and I'm 100% sure Bungie won't do it.

21 RepliesSomeone doing exactly what they said they'd do isn't a scam, cutie.
-
They would be scamming you if they told you they had them when they don't. But yea, dedicated servers would be nice.

Not a scam kid….
