After playing for a long time i took a bit of a break,, and came back maybe 6 weeks ago and got heavily back into the game.. but,, i missed the season it seems that introduced a lot of the main wellmaker mods...
Its now so frustrating as every single build i look on you tube for my hunter / titan / warlock,,,, the same 2 mods are constantly required.... and its always Font of might and Elemental charge...... and its ridiculous I'm expected to wait possibly months before i can finally make the optimum fun builds that everyone else is using..
how is this in any way attractive to new players? or returning players? its just a constant frustration...that infuriates me every day!!
I'm not the best at making the best builds...im the first to admit that... and knowing how all the mods mesh with aspects and fragments to create amazing synergies..... i leave that to people better than me at that kind of thing,,, but the problem is EVERY build i look at now ( especially with the arrival of 3.0) i just cant use, as its always missing 1 or 2 intrinsic mods that hold the build together... so I'm left with half broken builds that just don't work.... or to a far lesser degree
now i just log in for the reset ... see if the mods i need are for sale,,.... sigh in resignation.... maybe do a couple bounties and log out... and i cant believe for 1 second I'm the only person in this situation....
Theres a system that allows me to farm for exotic armour pieces in the form of legendary lost sectors... but god forbid i want an armour mod....... nope,, sorry... elemental charge?? Font of might you say?... just come back every day.. and maybe in 4... 5.. or 6 months you might get lucky..... genius system,,, :/

5 RepliesYou know what's ridiculous? REdiculous. Wtf is that?
-
Ada just needs to sell the hole list and not just 5 mods per day/week. I know y'all agree with me.
-
I say remove the mods from vendors and put them all in the Kiosk to be purchase with legendary shards and glimmer to help new players
-
2 RepliesNo it's not. Stop trying to make game harder or casual. Play in game and eventually you get all modes.
-
Agreed. I've been playing since D1 and any time I try to get someone interested in the game this is one of the things they bring up. Most common complaints I get are: 1.) The RNG in this game should be considered a hate crime. 2.) The grind on top of grind is pointless 3.) Build crafting is super lame 4.) Champion mods and "match game" are a cheap crutch to make content harder 5.) Paying for transmog over and over and over is silly 6.) The shader system is a mess 7.) The UI absolutely sucks B-@-L-L-S

4 RepliesThis is a legit problem for new players and I can only imagine how frustrating it must be. This is solid and honest feedback and they should be addressing it instead of ignoring it.

2 RepliesEdited by Mara Sovereign: 11/13/2022 6:05:20 PMYou can log in to the DIM and check the dailies at Ada, font of might isn't all that if you have high energy fire

Aside to the grumpy-old-man replies that say new players have no right to expect good gear, I'm a D1/D2 legacy player and I am sick and tired of seeing Ada's mod feed "already owned", "already owned", "already owned" when there's a bunch of mods I still need. FFS! Give us a grind (your favourite), make them buyable (your second favourite) or give us quests (your least favourite) to get them but for-crying-out-loud make them achievable! This roulette wheel approach to mods requiring us to true-sight omniscience as to Ada's offerings is just dumb!

14 RepliesHonestly, these posts and others with similar requests annoy the crap out of me. I want this, I can't get that, this is too much of a grind, this costs too much etc.... There must be thousands of D1 day 1 vets like myself who have spent thousands upon thousands of hours of grinding and gameplay to get to where they are now. Yet new light players and people who take breaks complain when they are missing content. I remember the days when if I bought a new game, I had to start from scratch, but Bungie have been more than generous in my opinion over the seasons, in giving new players a helping hand to catch up in various ways. I'm sure any missing mods can still be bought from Banshee or Aida albeit on an rng basis, but they're still available.
-
Agreed. There really should be a way to farm mods instead of relying on Ada everyday. Since some can be such an important part of a build, they should have ways to obtain them by playing. Hell, bring back adventures and make them obtainable there.
-
Terrible system and a crime that this hasn't been addressed by Bungie. They should have changed mod-acquisition years ago. Really frustrating. My only guess is they leave it this way to create FOMO which really tells you how they feel about their players: no regard.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 11/12/2022 6:07:38 PMRNG has actually reached a point where it is now counterintuitive to the buildcraft direction the game has been going. Where it is counterintuitive to what they have added to the game over the last 2 or so years. People can’t try new things out because of it, and that’s a problem. There needs to be moderation when it come to RNG. They have let it become unreasonable to the point of it feeling trollish at this point.

3 RepliesI am also baffled by Bungie and their apparent desire to drive away new players from the game with easy to fix problems like mod acquisition. Friend started playing, wanted to make a grenade well build, missed the one day elemental ordinance was being sold and decided the dev's clearly didn't want them to play the game if they were going to put one of the main build crafting tools behind time-gated rng. I can't blame them either, being stuck with extremely limited build options for months on end because rng doesn't give you the basic tools needed to make even simple builds sucks. Bungie just needs to add all mods as drops from playlist and let people earn them at their own pace.

1 ReplyThey should make it where armor drops can have a chance to have a mod on it that you get if you dismantle it. Even add them to a loot table somewhere. I’d run strikes more often if I knew I’d get a mod every now and then. Been playing since release and there are still mods I don’t have

3 RepliesEdited by Nectum: 11/12/2022 4:11:56 PMhttps://www.reddit.com/r/destiny2/comments/yr85ni/i_needs_it_ada1_mod_rng_sucks/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button I understand your frustration.... I have 4 builds waiting on explosive wellmaker

5 RepliesHonestly All mods should be available at all times. This is just a really dumb system that wasn't thought for well for many of you newcomers. Many of us have been around long enough to have every single mod, SO in all rational sense they should literally be available for purchase at all times after they have been released. Then again , that would be WAY too convenient.

2 RepliesEdited by ZigZag: 11/13/2022 6:20:15 AMI have all the mods but never got to use the ikelos or seventh seraph ones at all before they were nerfed. Kinda bummed. I hop on even when i take breaks just to grab mods for this reason alone.
-
2 RepliesFor me it's the well of Ions for my hunter. I wanted to play one two punch so bad, got everything except that mod.. checking every day.. still not selling the mod..

Thy spelling is also rediculous, though I agree with you.
