I am literally not allowed to use any off meta choices and new fun weapon rolls in pvp anymore since SBMM became a thing for the ONLY casual pvp playlist that was left in this game.
In what world can a developer think "hey we created this casual pve looter shooter with tons and tons of different and unique weapons" and at the same time creates an unplayable wannabe competitive environment for its CASUAL pvp playlist that makes it literally impossible for anyone above average to play anything off meta.
You literally get stomped like a blueberry if you use anything other than a competitive pulse + shotty or a 140 handcannon + shotty. Is that what these devs want for their CASUAL pvp playlist? Might aswell bring back static rolls and only create meta weapons from now on then.
And i am not even exaggerating. When you are an above average player, you are forced to play meta or you are getting stomped.
Not to mention the terrible connections with players from all over the world in my lobbies aswell as the insane queue times now that the season slowed down. I don't know who with a straight mind thought turning the only remaining casual pvp playlist into a tournament in a variety looter shooter but you deserve to be fired.
No wonder my entire friendlist is empty since sbmm came out cause everyone of my pvp buddies stopped playing.

The only things I refuse to use are fusions, shotguns and snipers, but I use everything else all the time; whatever works best for me at the time. Actually I've been running an elemental well build which doesn't even have PvP use, but I do have wells of light to help ability recharge, and instant partial recharge for casting rift, and throwing grenades. I'm competing though, literally better than ever in Destiny PvP. I'm not purposely throwing matches to exploit people below my skill bracket, but don't need to. I'm just playing points and utilizing teamwork, watching how everyone moves and whatnot. I know, before the SBMM, your current experience was my experience. Its frustrating isn't it? Really makes you hate the matchmaking, I understand from multiple years of this exact experience. The scoring is still too one-sided, too often, but I'm not sure if its because nobody is actually trying to play as a team (too often people aren't even trying to capture) or if its bunk azz Bungie programming. Could be a combination of the two, probably most likely that one, its never just one thing.
