Seasonal deep sight drop rates are awful
The drop rate is a joke. I unlocked the plundered energy drops from playlist activities today and of course nothing has dropped after 10 crucible games. I was hoping I can get energy easily with the hope to focus more weapons but no of course not. I am 216 in the season pass, so I play a ton. I just crafted my second deep sight weapon today. They barely drop and the grind is absurd.

What activities do you play? You should get all weapons done in like 40 master ketch crash runs and the level up rewards you get from them.

2 RepliesOnce I realised how low the drop rate was I stopped actively pursuing red borders for my own sanity. I now only have one pattern left for the Battler and Brigand's Law.

10 RepliesYou are not entitled to crafted weapons. It's supposed to be difficult to obtain red border weapons.

4 RepliesI disagree ... I get hundreds of red box weapons a day. It's just none of them have patterns that can be extracted. I've done a TON of master ketchupkatches and I get a TON of red box weapons ... wait let me rephrase that ... I get a ton of red box Pizzicato-22's or Gallu RR3's. Its totally F'ing stupid. I haven't crafted a single Season 18 or Dares weapon at all ... can't even get the red boxes to drop. The good news is that this season F'ing sucks and the weapons suck and the gear sucks and the content sucks so it's not like I'm missing out on anything. Next season will suck even more.

I completely agree, and if you are able to actually craft one at some point, you typically receive multiple copies of the one you already have access to craft. I believe Bungie should implement a change to disallow duplicate red boarder seasonal weapons to drop, if they are already craftable, until you are able to craft all of them. In my opinion, the seasonal vendor upgrades this season are underwhelming at best; whatever happened to upgrades like 'Guarantees first focused weapon will have a deepsight frame.'?

1 ReplyDrop rates are definitely in the toilet. Kings Fall drops are crap too, repeat drops on most encounters namely the scout.

It feels even worse since they removed the guaranteed focused red border each week. At least with the last few seasons if you’re drop rate was terrible you got the weapon you want in 5 weeks. Now, that isn’t possible.

If you are going to take away our ability to focus for a red border each week, you need to ad some sort of system with diminishing chances of non-red border drops. There should be protection in place so that on your 10th drop, you are guaranteed a red border. I play quite a bit and am skipping the seasonal content because it just feels like putting quarters into a slot machine. There's no system of control to guarantee weekly progress through focusing so I just feel like I'm spinning my wheels in an extremely repetitive activity.

I feel like with crafting it’s supposed to be something that works as a backup after a long time of grinding you can finally get the god roll with work, but now people just see god rolls as the default and scrap any rolls before they craft it because they just can get the god roll later down the line

I’m glad you made a post on this. I’m at the point where I’m willing to drop silver just for a single red border. Not just seasonal but Dares as well. It’s bad. Really bad. I can grind, but hell I have a life too.

Its only been a month first of all, and two I disagree. Most people I know and play with regardless of play time have gotten a good like 9-10, some of them already having more than 1 weapon crafted. Plus, we're literally getting free deepsights from Spider and story stuff and have upgrades to guarantee them. I bet by middle of October most people will have at least 2 weapons from this season crafted and by season end a good chunk will have a lot. And remember, there's still next season. We don't need red borders being thrown everywhere, especially with how good crafted guns can be.

3 RepliesDeepsight blueprints should also work on a knock out system (atleast forseasonal weapons and raids) there nothing more frustrating than wasting your once weekly rng Deepsight by getting a weapon you've already unlocked the blueprint for. That kept happening to me last season.

1 ReplyReally? Imo they have massively improved the crafting system. Sorry you're having such bad luck. I'm rank 200 so I play a lot too and I've unlocked Blood Feud, Brigands Law,Tarnished Mettle and the Pitchglass so far. This is the first season I've actually cared about weapon crafting really. It was such an uphill grind before.

1 ReplyThe last two seasons did it right - you could focus deep sight weapons towards the end of the season. Bungie removing that season perk is just plain dumb. It makes me want to play less, not more.
