Revenet feeling pretty weak in pvp

The nerfs were deserved and needed but now the kit seems like the weakness in the game by a large margin. Shurikens do 45 on direct hits and 30 on bounce, tracking isn't great either. (The slow on those are effective when you can get them to land) The slow on duskfield grenades is not effective as they can be slid, icarus dashed, hunter dodged through without slowing down the The super is pretty bad as the super comes out slow, the tracking on the initial throws is inconsistent and storm is very slow. What are everyone's opinion's? Is revenant now one of the worst subclass or am I just using it wrong?

  • Revenant PvP main who does really well using it here. It’s a class that gives up lethality for utility. Yes shurikens aren’t lethal but it gives you two charges so you may leverage those to your advantage with surplus weapons(highly underrated) Duskfields control so much of an area and it has the quickest cool down of any grenades. The utility of duskfields it so good. You can pair your dodge with slow. Also in addition using a shuriken on a slowed target will freeze them so this has great synergy with gamblers dodge. Again I don’t like using the shurikens cause I like getting the +25 stability and +50 handeling and reload surplus 3 provides. The super is a great fire and forget super. It again is great at controlling areas. And it is a shut down super albeit requiring precision to pull off. The only things I would love to see is if they suppressed melee lunge when an enemy is slowed. Also duskfields could freeze a little faster. But outside that revenant feels well balanced. On the other hand I feel the light 3.0 feel tuned a little to high.

    • Shurikens are the worst melee in the game. Hitting someone with both charges is less effective than almost every other single charge melee Revanant suffers from the nerfs to how slow works more than anything as it's whole purpose was to build slow stacks on targets. Shurikens needs a buff. Stasis crystal shattering and slow need a look at Bakris and Renewal Grasps need a tweak. They don't have enough upside any more All 3 stasis classes need a second super. All that being said, Behemoth is actually still worse (All of those from a PvP perspective)

I think you're just spec'd wrong or not capitalizing on it. I don't wanna write you a wall but if you seriously want help then I'll be glad to help you. Is this pve or pvp based?

      • Behemoth and revenant are both really bad now especially behemoth and how terrible its melee is now and the super

      • I only want the renewal grasp cooldown to be reduced. If light subclasses are about doing damage and dark about control then I want to control the flow of battle. The damage reduction can be reduced for all I care. Also shurikens need a bump up in tracking and speed.

      • Revenant Hunter is Area Denial Hunter. I was rocking that most of Iron Banner. Shurikens slow people allowing you to chase or escape better + have light ricochet tracking (but duration could be extended again) Duskfield and Glacier grenades lock or block out choke points. Snapfreeze provides more aggressive play (if the damn things ever track right, speed needs increase) Silence / Squall is not only area denial or zone control, it follows people (Needs to stop getting stuck in walls, could be faster...) and can shutdown other roaming supers. It's both proactive and reactive, just don't toss it when you're low HP or you're an easy target. My favourite thing to do was use Glacier grenades to both block and damage people at a distance, or pop it as a wall of defense in order to reposition. The Aspect makes it funny because now you can also trap people in the Dumb Baby Jail or use it as a final defensive wall + shatterdive combo. It doesn't have the same killing power but if someone's rushing you at low health it now becomes their problem. Primary ammo kinetic weapons + aspect that does more damage to crystals with kinetic weapons means you break a glacier crystal in 1 bullet with most weapons. Nobody really expects the long-range glacier burst + I think I had someone kill themselves because they ran into my glacier grenade with their super at low enough health and forgot / didn't realize that them breaking the crystals means they still take damage.

      • Good, screw that stasis meta, never want that again cause that was too strong for hunter neutral play and titan super supremacy

      • Its fine. Freezing of guardians shouldn't be allowed in the Crucible. I can get behind being slowed, but being frozen helpless is BS.

        • In my experience it feels like it's in a good spot. The only thing I think it could use is a minor buff to the shurikans, they barely track well when bouncing off walls Also, people are sleeping on Bakris. It's an amazing exotic. Combine that with the fastest grenade cooldown of duskfields and you have tremendous utility. The super is good enough. It feels like a better version of a tether with the same cooldown more or else. I can at least rely on it to get a kill and counter multiple supers.

        • I actually think the super needs mild reworking. Having a super you can throw once and forget about to get kills for you is ridiculous. And yes, this extends to Slowva Bomb too. Rev super should be stationary, and Slowva should be Shatter from D1 instead (or get creative, but Shatter is the easiest solution).

Meanwhile Revenant on Warframe is very strong. Actually, everything on Warframe is viable unlike Destiny.

Thats what literally every non stasis hunter asked for. The put the subclass in the ground.

            • Super is solid and does its job of crowd control and shut-down very well. Squall isn’t supposed to be lethal in PvP, it’s supposed to get people to move/run away. It’s a hunting partner, don’t expect it to pick up kills if you aren’t supporting it. It’s a trade off for its potential. Melee is about chasing people down and is a good utility pick. Fast cooldown + gambler’s dodge means very high uptime. They’re fast and get tags so long as you’re throwing them in the general vicinity. You need to have Whisper of Durance on if you want to make the most of Stasis hunter in PvP. This doubles the slow duration of this ability and the slow stacks from Squall. Shatterdive is fine, stasis crystals need a SLIGHT buff in PvP. Shatterdive is a moment ability with a little damage tacked on. One-shotting should never have been a thing. You can use it to get chip damage though or quickly dunk on someone hit by silence. Stasis grenades have great crowd control and hunter gets the enhanced grenade aspect. Duskfield has a very fast cooldown and a wide area. Throw it on a choke point or zone to instantly force enemies off. It also prevents heavy from being pick-up-able by the enemy team. Amped frostbolts are scary too, just not as spammable as Osmiomancy. The only parts of revenant’s kit I think is underpowered are Stasis Shards (which is applicable for every class) and the slow dodge (which could use an additional effect: maybe “defeating slowed enemies reduces dodge cooldown” or something.)

            • I agree the melee could use more damage, but I think everything else is fine. What Stasis as a whole needs is more stuff. Each subclass only has one melee, three grenades, and 1 super. Probably won’t see anything new until between lightfall and the final shape unfortunately.

            • Might be using it wrong imo Shurikens are great primers to gun fights, having the ability to ricochet Duskfield grenades and The super are great for Zone control (the concept, not the game mode) It also has great rushing capabilities with bakris and slow dodge

I think it's alright. I really enjoy stasis in PvP. And the Super, Silence and Squall (SaS) is very powerful and the tracking is good. It's a death sentence to literally everything that gets caught in it. It doesn't need to be as oppressive as it was. The reason the Shurikens only do 45 is because they come back quickly. They aren't supposed to be tracking gods. They are not a killer. They are a helper. And the grenades have so much utility as well. But uh... we need shatter dive to do a bit more damage, but nerf it in other ways. I need it to at least kill DOGGONIT!

                • Good. Honestly it was ridiculously oppressive. Awful addition to the game. Stasis had absolutely no place whatsoever in PvP.

                  • I 100% agree that Shurikens need a damage buff especially with all the nerfs to slow, and seeing how Hunters can't even freeze right now unless Hunters run Coldsnap. And if we compare to Shadebinder Warlocks who can literally one shot if they land a Penumbral Blast. I think Shurikens should do at least 80 - 90 damage on impact, and 60-70 on bounce. especially considered that even landing 2 Shurikens won't kill, won't freeze and since slow no longer messes up accuracy and AA and from the fact that Warlocks can icarus dash out of it, Hunters can dodge out of it, and Titans with Arc can now also dodge out of it. Sadly I don't think Revenant will get any buffs because how much the glacier dunk dominated the scene for almost a year. I'm glad they fixed it obviously since it was braindead and stupid but Bungie tends to nerf the wrong things first and then fix the issue at last but then go on to forget to rebuff some of the older things that wasn't really a problem. Also on a completely different note please give Winter's shroud 2 fragment slots lol I'm honestly baffled why Bleak watcher gives 2 fragments slots, Diamond lance gives 3 fragment slots while Winter's shroud only gives 1 lol.
