Pvp need a complete overhaul
Pvp is garbage.
Too much cheese/Not enough skill required
1 new map in years, though more vaulted (wtf)
Comp is a toxic dumpster fire
Ability spam is still a problem
Fusions and certain exotics broken
Matchmaking is garbage
Broken melees STILL
Seriously, I can go on and on why pvp is garbage in this game. Bungie needs to dedicate a whole season to PvP overhaul instead of PvE

But yes I agree that some aspects need a change asap to better cater to the player base, but gun play will never change and cheese weapons will never change. I’ve had many kids complain about cheesing, and I’ve gotten messages about me using my main ingredient saying I’m not gud. Well, no one is going to stop someone from using something unless they physically destroy their console/Pc and digitally delete their account. People will use what they wish, because that’s what game should be. But of course specific nerfs should be implemented for just too dam good gear, abilities, and weapons; such as ones with laser beam aim assist. Now what aspects truly need a change are matchmaking balances, connection fixes, and a wider variety of both maps and permanent game modes playlist.

Well you got special, healing sources, overshields, handcannons and hunters plaguing the crucible all those things need addressed.

Fusions are fine imo. A good shotgun user can counter them. You really can't balance Fusions well as they either suck or are very good. I would get rid of the air effectiveness stat. And make all primary weapons have perfect in air accuracy (if the redical is on the head you get a headshot). The AE stat should just influence aim assist and bullet magnetism. In general if you have the redical over a head you should get the crit. Scouts have issues landing crits at closer ranges because of the accuracy cone for them. If you can duel through the increase zoom magnification and have good aim you deserve to land those shots.

Matchmaking couldn’t be much worse. I don’t remember the last game I played in any playlist that wasn’t a blowout. Most quick play matches are called early, most survival are 4-0 or 4-1 at best.

Shitty lopsided connections and inconsistent hit detection (that were only made worse by crossplay) have always been and still are the biggest reasons why pvp can be a miserable experience. I’m not arguing against the other points you made and do agree with you, but when the mode doesn’t work properly half the time those things become less important.

2 RepliesNot sure if its due to the AE or special ammo scav changes, but this season has been especially boring. Since last season its been devolving into this super passive and boring sit in the back of the map with pulse fest. And the few that push are always invis/fusion. Its stale. Bungie has their share of blame for sure in terms of poor lobby balancing, but the community is to blame here for meta trends/playstyles which make the mode boring. Theres an abundance of cheese in this game, for sure, but its fine, the game never made it to some sort of competitive tier, i think that died with trials in d1 after awhile. But we insist on trying to make it competitive with the hardcore base and cookie cutter builds. People will get tired of it and complain that matches are sweaty again. Everyone running the same top tier, easy to use/ powerful weapons and abilities, what do you expect the mode to be?

All they need to do is nerf fusion rifles and snipers and handcannons. Then bring back supremacy, make clash permanent. Get rid of sbmm also.

Lobby balancing is also trash, 90% of the matches feel like as if i play survival at mythic rank. I am starting to seriously regret that i bought Destiny 2 back in forsaken days. Doesn't even feel fun, sweaty in quickplay modes bungie's done nothing to fix that problem.
