I don’t think they should be removed like many others do, but I think the way weapons interact with champions should change. Instead of making seasonal mods that allow us to stun them based off of certain weapons each season, make certain categories of weapons stun different champions as a basic function. (Except the exotic outliers)
1. Long range weapons should pierce barrier champions shields, like snipers, scout rifles and bows.
2. Medium/short range weapons should stun overloads, like fusion rifles, auto rifles, smgs, trace rifles, glaives and shotguns.
3. Explosive/heavy weapons should stun unstoppable champions, like grenade launchers, rockets, linear fusion rifles and so forth.
I honestly think something like this would benefit the game. Sure some people would use the same thing, but it enables variation in loadouts to defeat champions in end game content, which is something we all want. The current system forces us to use certain things when we could be experimenting with different weapons.
If you have other ideas or suggestions, I’d love to hear them! 😁

Honestly, my only problem with Champs in specifically overloads. They are prone to glitching out and the second you are unable to stun them (adds rush you, you die, they teleport to a bad spot, another champ body blocks, etc) you have to start all over again. Barriers aren't that bad, they regen but are stationary, and on master they get caught in a loop of stun, stare at you blankly, pop their shield. Unstoppable can just be kited, and do regen at all. Overloads can spam abilities, most can teleport, and regen incredibly fast. I think if they lost their regen, the ability spam would still be enough of a gimmick. Also makes it less painful when the stun stops working. Essentially it should be like this: Unstoppables have ungodly health and rush. Barriers stay back and pop a shield to heal, with an ai that either takes cover or body blocks other champs. Overloads move quickly and the throw everything and the kitchen sink at you.

No Making mods easier this way remove the 2 things they were made for Limiting and forcing to use new weapon on higher activities Making activities harder

1 ReplySolar abilities- Barrier Arc abilities- overload Void abilities- unstoppable

They are bullet sponges meant to try and make certain activities seem harder and take longer. They need to just go away.

1 ReplyWhy not just move the champ mods onto the weapons themselves? That way you can use any weapon on any champ with the right mod.

I'm not against your idea, but imo, I would just remove champion mods entirely and rebalance the champions themselves accordingly. Could also pave the way to new champion types that hopefully wouldn't be a PITA to put up with.

1 ReplyEdited by whiskeychaser: 7/5/2022 5:33:11 PMHave your teammates stun champions while you experiment. Edit- antibarrier works everywhere not just on champions, which I like. Bypassing vandals shields or other AI scripts isn't going to be added to all the long range weapons, ever.

1 ReplyNot perfect, but immensely better than the current system

2 RepliesI can get on board with this, but just switch up a couple of the weapon categories. We can hash those details after, but this can help with weapon variety, and also bring more unique mods into the artifact, instead of the same mods over and over again to just fill in space on the artifact each new season. Im sure more players want more mods to help with ability builds like Warminds, Wells, Charged with light, etc. They can replace those mods, with ability mods to also help give more variety in player ability builds, instead of being forced into only using weapons that don't work well at all with a build you love to use, and also not getting mods to support a build you enjoy to use. Its about ease of access and providing player variety use. A PvE meta should not be forced down your throat. A meta WILL exist, but may not be the only meta, or will not hinder your ability to play how you wish. I like this idea and gave it an upvote.

Maybe not exactly this, but it’d be a big improvement on the current weapon restrictions.
