Hunter Fizzles Out on Restoration

After the seasonal mod 'Classy Restoration' is gone, Hunters are the only class who have no aspect or fragment to proc the 'Restoration' ability solo. A restoration proccing aspect or fragment should be added before the end of season 17. *Edit* For those with constructive criticism: you are the real silver lining to D2. Thank you for being here. For those who think grenades are an aspect or a fragment: ... they're not. (Shocking, I know.) For those whining "but hunters shouldn't have things our (perfectly balanced;) Warlocks/Titans have:" Have you heard of Void 3.0 the strongest subclass to-date? Everyone has access to Void Explosions, Devour & Invisibility via *gasp* Aspects (Nope, still not a grenade). Some classes have EASIER means of doing so via class specific Fragments, but it doesn't change the Aspect flexibility available to all classes. I'm asking for that consistency in Solar 3.0. Thanks for reading!

Healing grenade + traveler's chosen + the fragment that makes solar weapon kills extend the duration. Traveler's catalyst gives it osmosis. Healing nades proc osmosis. Slay out with traveler's to build up the perk, reload to get a new grenade every 2 or 3 kills. Rinse and repeat.

  • I’d rather there is less self-healing than more, it’s already extremely irritating in pvp at least. In PVE though, I’d agree with you.

  • Healing grenades. Hunters CAN proc resto solo. Doesn’t matter if it’s not an aspect.

  • Solar rework just didn’t hit the mark. Void was already better on average and rework improved it, but solar was underused on average and rework at best gave people a shiny new toy they will go back to void later when bounties and such aren’t encouraging solar use. Without the resilience rework I am a firm believer that solar 3.0 would have been met with backlash not as extreme as sunsetting but very far up there. Solar is neat in some ways with radiant but it still feels underwhelming since void was so good. Titans came out in a pretty good place imo, but warlocks and hunters do not feel that amazing. Buffing the nerfed version of benevolent dawn to allow it to stack based on affected targets would be a significant buff in usability for solar particularly for hunter and warlock.

Whats wrong with Ember of Empyrean re-triggering the healing grenades restoration, sure you dont have a fragment to cause healing but refreshing is works out to be the same. Ember of Solace for increased duration to restoration(&radiant) makes it even more of a forgiving mechanic to keep active. I know I'll still be chaining 1min+ duration restoration after this season via this mechanic. Its far too overpowered not to run for every thing except GM.

      • I know I for one will be dropping right back to void after this season. Super is still good, and actually can survive? Yeah I’ll take that over a class that doesn’t have equivalent utility as the others.

        • The way I see it, hunter isn’t really meant for restoration or cure. Void titan doesn’t have access to devour or invis with any of its aspects. Hunters are not healers like warlocks, nor tanks like titans. Therefore, healing effects don’t really fit with their identity. One of the complaints with solar 3.0 has been the lack of identity for each class. If hunters had an aspect for restoration, it would further water down the identities of all three classes. That said, I also think titans should have less access to radiant (basically just make it so the fragment where your melee gives radiant is significantly nerfed with throwing hammer) and reduce the scorching effects on warlock abilities.

          • With healing grenades being a thing I won't lose sleep over losing classy restoration. Not every class needs access to every part of everyones kit.

            • Warlocks still have nothing meaningfull to shatter stasis crystals except fpr kinetic weapons.... I think they just want it that way, so that not every class can do everything. Do I agree to that philosophy? No

              • Just run a solar weapon and extend the duration of radiant and restoration buffs It’s what I do as a titan, and it’s extremely effective. You roll and get both perks up at the same time. Nothing nerfed in your kit yet so use it instead of babbling about not having something that proc’s regen, get some kills and actually preserve it

Well considering we can proc radiant with just a dodge, and infinite knives that also proc radiant, I think it’s a fair trade. Plus healing grenades are a thing

                • Gunpowder gamble needs 3 fragment slots, I could use healing nades then. Healing and damaging grenades at Same time. Reminds me of warlocks.

                      • Ez fix is to just make classy restoration into a fragment. Every1 would still have access to it but would have to build into it specifically. Warlock and titan would still have no requirements to build into it to get healing and such but would still benefit from it if they did spec into it.

                          • this community has a weird idea that different classes need access everything. hunters dont need quick access to resto thru a fragment bc they arent tanks or healers, warlock and titan shouldnt have dodges bc they arent mobile classes, non warlocks sholdnt have devour bc i said so. class divide is good and the different components of each class should be reinforced and emphasized, not spread around to others

You hunters can activate radiant on a simple dodge which can actually be reduced to 22 seconds with the right mods and exotic, everyone else needs a charged melee hit. So there you go, hunters are not left out, use a healing grenade and max out discipline if you want restoration.
