They need a rework.
I am extremely tired of getting killed by my own tripmine grenade, that the opponent(who i stuck it to btw) doesnt die. Really? Why does it do more damage to the user than the target?
Also the thing takes too long to explode. Should be immediate. Any movement ability can get you through a tripmine easy, be it shoulder charge, icarus, whatever. The grenades gets tripped and then explodes which by the time this happens the intended target is already in front of you with a shotgun.
All i ask is if this grenade can 1 tap me, it sure as heck should be 1 tapping my enemy.

4 RepliesUnless something changed, Tripmines haven’t been able to stick to people for years.

I use a trip mine build.. you’ll only -blam!- if you’re in range. It’s a literal explosion, nades like that damage you. Best way to use tripmines is to set traps and shutdown lanes.

2 RepliesI know you're talking of PvP, which I don't experience, but... from what I understand, it seems you throw the Tripmine directly to your Opponent and also in quite a close range. Now... Tripmines -by definition, at least- should be used as "traps". You should put a Tripmine hidden in small corners of trafficated areas, or maybe put it against a wall when you're chased by someone (like an aggressive player who wants to Shotgun you ecc) and wait. It's not designed to be thrown against a player in a close quarter combat for immediate damage like a Vortex Grenade. Also, I believe allmost all Grenades damage the user when they explode too close to them. Maybe you've been already damaged by an opponet an the Grenade finished you.

4 RepliesIsn’t there a hunter exotic that removes or reduces self trip mine damage? I think it was the gauntlets

Trips are fine

2 RepliesThe only thing that needs a fix for tripmines is that stasis and sometimes shooting them will knock them off the walls. Also all wall stick grenades needs a better throw trajectory and bungie needs to fix the odd bugs where they sometimes point in odd directions despite throwing straight at the wall and also how the wall textures will make them point in random directions.

1 ReplyYou’re not using them right kid. Use akhamkara arms the do increase damage and don’t damage you if they explode on your. Literally kids I play against swap to them when they see me clap them with tripmines .

It's already a quick 160-damage crutch grenade with Scorch that can be enhanced even more by Young Ahamkara's Spine and you want it to OHK and explode instantly? LMAO, this has to be bait.

Trip mines are a top 3 grenade, they are fine.

🎶We don't talk about Tripmines, no no no...🎶

It does more damage in the red zone (outwards, like a claymore) than underneath, tested in pve & pvp Thats likely why you're getting slapped by your own nade

Edited by Ghostfire239: 6/18/2022 4:55:21 AMThe only thing that bothers me about tripmines is their blast radius. I feel like the Young Ahamkara spine blast radius is what the base Tripmine should be like. That or speed up the detonation time.
-
Have you tried Ahamkara's Spine? Fixes the self damage problem right there, increases damage, and ability damage significantly reduces the grenade cooldown. I'll agree that at least with AS it should OHK if it sticks an enemy, but the rest of your problems are on you.

3 times in trials today it popped on the full team and they all said "immune" for the original hit, and the stacks afterwards

I love when it explodes on someone literally just standing in it. And it takes half their shield only. 👌🧑🍳💋

I was over it a long time ago. Was my favorite in D1. Most times people won't take the bait, or if they do it will flinch them yet they emerge unscathed. Not to mention its always miraculously time to auto detonate when I get near it. Can you even still unicorn people?
