I don't even know where to begin. Destiny's PvP is probably the least fun, most stressful, most toxic and worst feeling PvP games in all of gaming. Trials is just elimination with fancy loot and titles - nothing that stands out in the gameplay from the rest of crucible because ALL of crucible is just a sweat fest all the time.
Iron banner is worthless as an event, just as it was worthless before. The new game mode would have been fine if it shipped with no bugs, but 50% of our games never finished all the way through without something glitching out.
No matter what game mode we enter, we get put against guilded flawless and unbroken players. At every level. Whether it's quickplay or trials, all we face is sweats that main PvP. Then we're told to "git gud" but how the -blam!- are we supposed to do that when there's not skill based matchmaking in quickplay? The best way to get better is to play against other similarly skilled players, hone our skills, rise up in skill, and repeat. It's impossible to learn a damn thing when it's mercy after mercy. 5-0 after 5-0.
Learning from failure is good. But there's nothing to learn from getting obliterated other than "I guess I just suck".
After losing probably 95% of my matches over 8 hours of straight PvP, it's clear that there needs to be a change. Maybe keep trials the "pinnacle" activity of elite skill and have no skill matchmaking, but put skill matchmaking back into quickplay do that the rest of the community can practice, learn, and actually have SOME fun in this game - which has stopped being fun for a long time because of this.
Something HAS to change, and the sweats shouldn't be the only ones getting their way in crucible. I'd rather wait 2 extra minutes in orbit waiting for a match to start, than get into one in 20 seconds and get mercied in less that 2 minutes.

2 RepliesIts definitely toxic i’ll give you that… and it can be very unforgiving initially. I’m not too sure about stressful, it’s a game at the end of the day. I suggest finding weapon archetypes that cater to your play style then customize your armor to optimize things like unflinching aim, reload speeds, targeting, class abilities etc. Look into aspects that offer additional armor stats too. A big part of the crucible is gearing up for it. It’s very easy to dismiss this for most new players. Max out your armor with ascension shards. Once your gear is set then comes the gradual process of acquiring good accuracy and game sense. That’ll just come naturally with experience. I suggest running in a team yourself, maybe 2 or 3 other players to keep things challenging and engaging. Six stacks tend to be boring stomp matches. I hope this helps. I’m a new light player but have attained unbroken and have had success in trials. PvP can be very thrilling once you get accustomed to it all.
