Can't unlock new armor ornaments
Tried to unlock armor I got from Duality as ornaments for my Titan but after holding square nothing happens and I can't retry.

6 RepliesI had the exact same issue, but holding the unlock button down, while previewing did it. You just gotta hold it for one minute, I dunno why it doesn't work immediately, but holding it helps. I was near Ada when I did it, if anything.

ps5: -on the appearance customization screen preview the piece you want to unlock -hold square until it unlocks (did not need to trigger the ability for the unlock progress bar to move, so one try is all it took) sometimes it takes 10 seconds, sometimes it takes longer

I stand corrected ItsDimmy is absolutely right I previewed it and held unlock button for a bit then it popped! Nice one Dimmy

Works if You hold down square/F for about 10 sec. Did unlock 2 ornaments, just now.

1 ReplyMy dudes, after previewing a helmet i was trying to unlock, I held down square for a hot minute until it finally registered. I was in the tower if that matters.

Edited by Kjata1013: 6/8/2022 12:39:02 AMSame. But if you keep fighting with it, it will eventually work. Just keep pressing square, adjust the cursor, and then try again and it’ll work. But this behavior is definitely broken.

1 ReplyIt seems you have to hold the button down until it unlocks while previewing the item. I’m on Xbox and have tested one of the comments and this is the method I found worked.

Was having a similar issue, doing it at the tower instead of orbit seemed to fix it for now

Likewise; having issues with this feature. Tried in orbit, on ground, next to Ada-1, next to loom, in Ada-1 dialogue. Takes several tries to even register that I'm trying to make the ornament, then when progress bar proceeds it just sits at the 100% end and does nothing. Please fix it Bungie. (June 2022)

Same, it looked like it was going to unlock and then nothing happened. Now holding square does nothing

2 RepliesI’m on PS5, after reading this I was messing around with different ways to try to unlock an ornament. What ended up working for me was to preview the ornament by pressing triangle (this was the only way I was able to press square was while previewing). Then while holding the square button, after the bar would get to the top, I pressed triangle while still holding down square and it unlocked. Might have something to do with the preview.
