Missing the Main Problem with Solar 3.0 Warlock

Bungie stated in the TWAB this week that they understand that Warlock’s feel underpowered because two of our Aspects being based on aerial combat… but then they did basically nothing to address it. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m sorry adding healing to Heat arises in no way makes me want to use it. Icarus Dash is only used because I have no better options. Like, they need to change the aspects of warlock they are so crazy lame compared to the Titan’s big fire slam and the Hunter’s grenade bundle. Warlocks got the real shaft with this update to Solar 3.0 and it seems like Bungie is missing what the issue is entirely, they need to give us a different third aspect and just combine Icarus Dash and Heat Rises together, I can’t understand why that wasn’t how it was in the first place. Making Phoenix Dive a useless alternate rift instead of an aspect was such a mistake and it seems like they are only going to double down. Really disheartened by the TWAB this week Edit: To be clear, I am a PvE player and have no real experience with their uses in PVP. Imo Heat Rises is utterly useless in PvE other than platforming, and Icarus Dash is only somewhat useful in endgame content. I get that maybe these are better in PvP, but that frankly is a dumb reason to neuter warlocks in PvE. Also, from the untrained eye Heat Rises seems like an easy way to get shot out of the sky in PvP. Maybe I’m wrong

 • If it’s useless in pve, the I assume that you are boots on the ground at all times? The point is that they are making you choose a mobility option, and forcing you to pay a price if you decide to stack both Heat Rises and Icarus Dash. The point that people refuse to accept—-some to the point of harrassing and abusing the Sandbox Lead on Twitter—-is This Is Bungie’s Game and They Have Their Own Vision of How They Want It To Play. Aerial mobility is part of the identity of the Dawnblade subclass. Even if you chose not to use it, or it is not the best play in some content. Solution? Just don’t use it. Because it is part of the identity of the Warlock class, Bungie is not going to give it to other classes (Twilight Garrison). So the notion that all three classes will play the same and have the same abilities is an unreasonable and unrealistic expectation. This game is evolving into an action-RPG, and the days of pvp controlling how the game is designed to play are over. They’ve been over for three years.
