Having a PvP game mode like Rift becomes absolutely broken when you have a 6 stack and communications, you might as well just emote in your spawn zone and pray then end it fast like they want. The amount of blow out games I played when teams were allowed was 95% of all the matches, winning and losing. Freelance was actually balanced and dare I say fun. All in all I'd rather play Gambit instead of Rift.
