Solar Update is not enough

Heat rises healing is not enough at all, more needs to be buffed for warlock

  • Again Heat rises and icarus dash being split makes zero sense. Merge them together and revert the buffs being given next hotfix. Add benevolent Dawn to touch of flame. Make a new aspect that buffs scorch and ignition. Allows all solar weapons to scorch and allows scorch to spread on kills. Now the warlock is the 'healer and pyromancer' class you guys kept talking about in the vidoc. Easy fix. From there just make small adjustments based on feedback to ensure it all fits and isn't boring or busted.

      • They need to bring back the skills that were in Attunement of Flame. Solar 3.0 has made the game completely unappealing to play. I had my character the way I liked her and now she's ruined.

      • I wish they would stop trying to force Warlocks to play airborne to be effective. Why do we have to use heat rises to get the benefits of consuming Grenades. So annoying. I mained bottom tree dawn purely because I hate how you have to make yourself a sitting duck in top tree. We should have an option to use those abilities without flying around. Still sticking with void until Arc comes out. Hope it’s better.

          While I do enjoy some of the solar 3.0 changes, I am not much a fan of Warlocks apparent roll being "stay in the air at all times" considering all the buffs they are giving it seem to reflect a heavy emphasis on Ariel combat. Also, why the Cure buff for all of the healing abilities? Cure is downright crap in comparison to Restoration, especially with the introduction of the Empyrean fragment. Who in their right mind would ever spec into Cure, that doesn't even 100% heal you, when Restoration essentially makes you unkillable with an indefinite cooldown now? Heck, the only thing I actually like about Solar 3.0 for the Warlock is that now I can use tripmines. I mean, as a Warlock, you're still basically limited to either using Stickies or Solar flares to get the most out of your kits and that's even more apparent with Touch of Flame only buffing those two in any substantial way whatsoever. Firebolts are still crap and the ehaking grenade is 50/50 It still feels like Titans take on the role of healer even better. They can spec into Phoenix Cradle, and give everyone restoration Sunspots with Sol Invectus for ability Regen or run Armamentarium for 2x healing greandes. Like bruh, Warlocks can't even have 2 Healing greandes anymore and we're THE healing class (supposedly) 🤷

        • The classes really don’t need much more help after this imo. What needs to be buffed are Phoenix Dive and Incinerating Snap, albeit only a little. Both very cool abilities that will have zero use cases after this update. Phoenix Dive needs to have a shorter cooldown than rift or do more and Incinerating Snap needs to have a tighter spread or increased tracking or increased damage per projectile. Frankly I’d be fine with Phoenix Dive being nothing but a movement ability if it had the old cooldown or at least somewhere near it (~5 seconds iirc, I’d be fine with like 15-20 seconds even). That’s really the problem with the Warlock and Titan updates: all the actually new and cool stuff are just objectively worse than running effectively the same stuff we were running pre-solar 3.0. Consecration, Phoenix Dive, and Incinerating Snap are all pretty bad compared to just using the same old same old, despite them being very fun and cool. The only thing that snuck in is Starfire Fusion spam, which isn’t even a new concept, it just got better.

These changes will go live next week with Hotfix 4.1.0.2.[/quote][/i] And with the new fragments released yesterday, there’s already broken/overpowering builds out there utilising these All I hear is “Warlocks are underpowered” Yet all I see is grenades after grenades with the Starfire armour build (and that’s before the new broken aspects & upcoming buffs) On another note, nothing is being buffed for Hunters And their Solar options are utter trash

Take the time to fix it properly and not just throw out random buffs to try and calm the community. Cause that's what it looks like.

                All of these healing changes will remain useless until we are able to see ally health bars. There are too few ways to apply Scorch. Ignitions practically require both melee and grenade ability, and oftentimes enemies die to said abilities before Ignition even activates. There are many exotics, both weapons and armor, that SHOULD work better with Solar 3.0. Polaris Lance, Sunshot, Starfire Protocol not working with the Radiant buff, etc. Solar 3.0’s concept is a great idea, but poorly executed. It’s improved a lot of things, Hammer of Sol is just insane now, Blade Barrage has incredible damage output, and Deadshot Goldie causing Ignitions on kill makes it a great ADD clear. But Dawnblade lost the ability to extend it’s duration on kill and the damage with Dawn Chorus is still meh. Phoenix Dive is just gross, such a long cooldown. The neutral kit for Warlock is a mess, Consecration and Gunpowder Gamble are just too weak to justify an Aspect slot, and barring two Fragments behind Nightmare Containment was a boring move.

                • Well warlocks have an infinite melee and infinite grenade build so what else do u want kid? Like bruh build something useful and test it in the vault in duality as that’s the hardest encounter to solo if ur not a hunter

                • If you need it buffed anymore you're just not playing solar right. And thats for all 3. I almost just did a 50 streak abusing Dawnblade in Iron Banner ffs.

                    Warlocks currently are stupidly good. Just needs more diversity. Right now the current best builds are: Ability spam 1 Ability spam 2 Ability spam 3 I think a fragment or aspect that causes enemies to scorch after a certain amount of precision hits from solar weapons would be really nice and add more to builds focusing around weapons. Maybe a new melee that heals allies and gives them a short boost in ability regen when they’re hit by it. An aspect that focuses on ground mobility instead of mid-air mobility. It could boost movement speed and weapon handling after absorbing a grenade. A new healing ability that, after sprinting for a duration, you can slide to create a burst of healing around you. This new ability could be buffed by this new aspect for some nice synergy. Then you can be a build that can quickly move through an area to heal allies.

                    • Can’t say anything for the warlock changes (namely cause I hardly play warlock) but the titan buffs those I’m looking forward to a 25% pve buff for maul adding to roaring flames to where normal punches give scorch and a fragment incr to the 3rd aspect I see the titan buffs as a win

                    • The Dawnblade changes aren't going to cut it. It needs something else. It needs an aspect the doesn't involve air combat.

                      • I’m actually okay with it, I’d just like a change to how ignition works to make it more consistent to activate. Also, buff Phoenix Dive and Acrobat’s Dodge (PvE). Other than that, the changes seem to be making healer warlocks a lot more viable (even more so when they fix Benevolence). Titans w Phoenix Cradles are still probably going to be the top healers, but the ability to apply regeneration to your team and extend it easily using one of the new fragments means that you can have permanent uptime on Regen so long as enemy density remains relatively decent and you run a solar weapon.

                      • Thread summary: Titan and warlock mains agreeing that dawnblade has been hit hard aside from some novelty patrol builds and one spam build centered around exploiting one exotic. Hunter pvp mains vehemently disagreeing that dawnblade is actually OP broken, because they know the other classes better than the mains.

                        • Heat Rises and Icarus Dash aspects need to be fused together and a third aspect based around healing should be added. Don’t want Benevolent Dawn? Fine that can stay gone but warlocks need another aspect NOT based around aerial combat

                            Is it so hard to allow me to make a solar build that doesn’t require me to be in the air? Seriously I could care any less about being in the air, even in trials. Being in the air should be an optional strategy, not make the whole freaking subclass about being in the air. Phoenix dive also still takes forever to use with almost no benefits. the game wants me to use a grenade ability to then make the best out of an ability that barely does anything on an insanely long cooldown, Thats ridiculous.
