I don’t know if it’s about flexing. I lfg a lot and don’t really encounter many people just shoving their ego down your throat.
Feels more like the gap between noobs and vets is growing and that’s what’s making it harder to get people together.
I myself don’t want to spend an extra 15-20 at an encounter to teach it, I’d rather fly through it because I know I’m capable of this, so I want my teams to be as well.
There’s so much new player friendly content as is, should the content geared more towards vets be held back for newer players? I don’t think so

Well the moment i knew what i was doing i was teaching half of the dungeon to a complete random as we were doing the encounters, even as a Trials main i was willing to help since the Dungeon isnt as hard as some are saying. Its a relatively easy Dungeon imo, its just one of those ones where you have to learn the encounters before being able to take it on with confidence. New players have to reach the point where they themselves want to do harder content, its difficult for veteran players, like yourserlf for example, to help teach them because they simply dont want to waste their time.

To that argument which is pretty fair, I say why not use YouTube to pick up the basics of what’s going to happen and what’s expected of you. Guides are well made and plentiful, it isn’t gate-kept knowledge. I have no regular friends to do stuff with. I almost exclusively use lfg for anything I need. Also annoying because newer players pretend they’re knowledgeable, join groups they have no business joining, waste an hour of everyone’s time, which pisses everyone off, calls veterans toxic and leaves. It’s not an uncommon thing and it further taints veterans from teaching.

Edited by Olórin: 5/30/2022 6:56:51 AMNot quite sure what point youre making here mate but you've mentioned in this very statement exactly why a hands on Sherpa is better than a youtube tutorial/guide. Watching Youtube sometimes isnt enough for some players, imo its better to have first hand experience teaching in-game, a hands in approach so to speak. You can watch any type of tutorial on youtube but that doesnt mean you instantaneously know what youre doing. Another point you've mentioned is someones attitude, thats a totally different variable, someone could come acriss arrogant because they want to 'save face' and are most likely afraid the team will boot them straight away... ... Or they're just simply an arrogant person who doesnt really deserve to be taught, watches a youtube video and now thinks they know what to do yet fails. If they show arrogance and toxicity towards players who genuinely dont mind teaching then i personally wouldnt bother helping if they came to me anyways, that doesn't mean im not willing to teach others who are deserving. Problem is that veterans dont want to teach because they themselves get nothing out of it, there needs to be at least something in place for players willing to guide new lights who have an interest in getting better.

Ding! Give the man a seegar! There's no in-between and it's worse. Vet players have to look for a group or be part of a group to really play the game. No solo unless you're REALLY good. (I'm better than average, but not **GOOD** in that sense of things) Which is annoying because I don't want to have to team up for a lot of this. I don't have time with all the other things I do (Including core Embedded Linux development) to spend that much time on things- and so much of the content is NOT geared for someone like myself (Even though they CLAIM it is.)

Edited by Olórin: 5/29/2022 6:50:03 PM
Ding! Give the man a seegar!
"Seegar" lol Some Dungeons just happen to be harder than others, the only issue i have about this latest dungeon is the overuse of adds, to the point where every encounter is ludicrous. Speaking over which, move b*tch get out the way, is what comes to mind everytime i see a bellkeeper preparing to launch me at mach 9 speeds into a wall.

Trying to solo first boss and it’s not the mechanics. It’s the pysions stuck in walls and the enemies that teleport that is the bad part. Some glitchy stuff going on in this dungeon.
-
Heh. There's some glitchy crap all throughout. Can't progress with the season content...it's bugged. Can't progress with the last season's content it's toast... TOO HARD. WTF?
-
I skipped end of guardian games but it’s still telling me to go to podium, which is not there even though it has a marker on map lol I love how you run the first boss and do a damage phase, go in for your second banner everything looks good and you go to kill bell guards and every enemy snipes you at once for insta death
-
Idk thats pretty bad luck ngl, on both runs i never had that happen to be honest.
-
Spent hours on first boss fight. Running as warlock so no invis. But yeah had several instances where guy was in wall then game would teleport him behind you. In the main hall real world side the psions will teleport around.
-
I main warlock so i had no invis either, i didnt find too much issues once i slapped on Solar and Sniper resist mods. The psion issue im yet to come across though.
-
What were you running for weapons? I used wither, funnelweb and sword. Osteio works very well to for ad clear.

Edited by Olórin: 5/29/2022 1:27:44 PMWitherhoard, Adept Summoner and Falling Guillotine but second run i had on a different sword Hero of Ages. Reason being is for the first boss where youre killing the shades, the roll i have on that sword help survivability and had chain reaction easy to kill two at a time before fighting the boss. Plus i was super bored of going back to Falling Guillotine lol might use Lament next time around but i think Witherhoard is always a better choice for exotics, helped me with my solo flawless run on Prophecy.
-
It’s a game not a war.. vets? Lol. The game needs to look at fun content for the majority, not the ‘vets’
-
Edited by Olórin: 5/29/2022 12:37:08 PMDo you even know what the word 'Veteran' means... Because if you did you wouldn't associate it with strictly war.
-
Yeah you can fly thorugh it and yeah it’s great sometimes. But I still think it’s necessary to teach someone once and a while. The more people who know what to do from teaching the more sessions you can get where you can breeze through.
-
Edited by Olórin: 5/29/2022 2:45:25 PMI agree, i flew through this Dungeon second time around and we were teaching it on the fly as we done it. New players need an on hanf experience to learn and not just youtube. Thats just my take on it.
-
Yeah I find doing something myself is the fastest most efficient way to learn. I’m a very quick learner myself in both game and real life. But then again I always have a ear on when I’m learning/teaching.

Edited by Olórin: 5/29/2022 2:58:52 PMYeah but i just never really thought players would think this was a difficult dungeon, long at times yeah but i genuinely liked the challenge at first and now i think everything leading up to the main boss was relatively okay.
