I have read multiple times that console players get extra aim assist. I don’t know if it’s true or not because I haven’t tried D2 on my xbox. I do know that people will easily 1 shot with sniper rifles etc even when close up on a player. I freely admit as a PC player that I am not a good pvper but am really great at pve.
I am considering turning off crossplay just to see if PC players are overall just as good.
Please don’t flame me or say “get gud”. I am just wandering about this. Thanks.

3 RepliesCant tell you if its a case. But best D2 players tend to play on controller.

50% of pc players play on controller and from my experience and other experience controller on pc has more aa.

controller on pc is broken, on old gen obv is fine not sure of new gen, should be broken like pc with 120 fps

Turning off crossplay wouldn’t do any good because it’s input device dictated rather than platform. Meaning any player using a controller gets extra aim assist. But that extra aim assist is only sticky aim, which slows down your reticle while over a enemy. It’s by no means as game breaking as some would like you to believe.

2 RepliesController (not console specific) has aim assist, as in reticle stickiness. KB&M has a similar system that only changes the bullets, not the feel of the reticle- bullet magnetism. Destiny is an absurdly easy to play game when it comes to aiming, for all inputs. That's why it feels good to play and why it feels like you're really good at shooting things. When compared to other games, Destiny is basically like having training wheels on. But in terms of destiny player vs destiny player? There's a significant level of parity between ease of use and freedom. Controller may seem like cruise control, but it's also limited in plenty of ways, whereas kb&m gives you more freedom in those areas but can take more effort to track targets etc. PC can't turn off crossplay matchmaking. When you gave console players, the real issue is their inherent lag, not their aim. There's also plenty of controller players on PC, even without crossplay. Amusingly people talk about how some really good players are controller and think the controller is the reason why, completely ignoring the hours of experience they have. If they were to have that same amount of time on KB&M? They'd still be fantastic players. Ultimately, Destiny's control schemes are fun and easy for everyone, and though they're different in many ways, trying to argue weigh them against one another really doesn't make much sense. Pros and cons. Everyone has pros and cons.

8 RepliesEdited by A_mo: 5/15/2022 3:48:26 PMNot sure if its different but the other day I was watching someone play with a controller on PC and then the same person playing in a console only lobby and it sure looked different. People playing on controllers probably helps keep the PC player population higher than it would be though.

Nah. Aim assist is necessary cause aiming with a stick is doodoo
