VRAM leak is STILL an issue one month after release of WQ

Seriously, how long is this going to take before y'all fix it. I can't play any longer than an hour with a 2070 8gb without it stuttering badly. Edit: No word beforehand but it looks like it was addressed in today's hotfix.

  • Guess what: Another week with another hotfix and still this is not fixed - at least they had time to remove the credits node from the director for whatever reason... @Bungie: This is absolutely annoying and it's getting ridiculous there is still neither a fix nor any update on when we can expect a fix!

Unfortunately I don't think it will be fixed. It's been an issue that's existed for the past couple of years and has only increased in size and severity with Witch Queen. All Bungie has done so far is pay lip service in acknowledging that it exists after some players found the actual root of the problem.

    • Same… the worst part is I don’t see them acknowledge the issue. Instead of already nerfing guns or ability’s fix this. This should be priority 1. Fix ASAP it’s not fun to have to restart the game constantly

    • Mine only started happening after WQ launched. After about an hour, I get the stutters and while you can kind of live with it in PVE, it definitely ruins the gameplay for PVP. I also run a 2070 Super and thought it was an Nvidia driver issue, but with much troubleshooting and reinstalling the game as well as deleting the actual config files and making sure HDR wasn't inadvertently on, I'm just dumbfounded. Is it truly a VRAM leak though? I've read about it and seen screenshots of people's memory counts skyrocket, but I've found my numbers to be stable even after playing for a multiple hours in a session.

      • Same here. I want a refund tbh. It becomes unplayable.

      • I just wish we had open communication. I'm sure this isn't the easiest thing to fix, but tweets from Dmg or Cozmo or someone maybe every couple of days just letting us know that the team is still working on it would go a long way.
