The raids not terrible, but it's definitely geared towards hard core gamers and not casuals. I would disagree with it having zero interest on the lfg boards. I've jumped into multiple groups since launch.
Personally, I think raids should be more on par with SOTP, DCS, EOW, Crota; as base raids should be more about having a fun adventure and solving moderate difficulty puzzles/mechanics. Then prestige mode should introduce extra mechanics. So for example: base raid for vow should only use 1/3 of the symbols, time limits should be increased slightly, and revive tokens should be removed. Then the prestige mode should use all symbols, have revive tokens, have shorter time frames for encounters, and champions.

This is actually brilliant. It also gives players an opportunity to learn the new mechanics gradually which is a great way to introduce the raid to the more casual base

well it used to be this way.. normal mode for learning and hard mode for the big rewards:: then they introduced revive tokens.. and wipe mechanics based on timers.. blargh from there on..

This is the best take i’ve seen here, sometimes I don’t want to have to remember 21 symbols and just wanna nuke a cool boss or something with buddies. Other times I want a challenge with a dedicated group
