Catastrophic FPS Drop

As the title says, this is the worst Drop I've ever seen. I took a small break from Destiny with Witch Queen coming up so I could focus on work and other things. Before said break (I'd say it was only a few weeks in) Destiny ran beautifully. A frame drop now and then, but that was a known issue and I didn't worry about it. Cut to 02/08/2022, last night; I tried to start up the game to grind some DoE, but all of a sudden, the game was incredibly slow to start-up. Once I got to the Title Screen, I noticed it was already a little choppy. The real issue hit while trying to just load into the character select; FPS dropped to I can only assume 5 to 10 frames, and stayed that way consistently. I wasn't even able to get into the in-game settings to try to lower any settings. So, I tried a few things. I checked my internet (Wired connection, gigabit speeds), and there were absolutely no issues. I tried checking the NVME drive that the game is on; drive was healthy, no issues there. I wondered if it was doing it for other games too, that maybe it was the 2080 Ti; Nope. Alien Isolation at Ultra, no issues. RE: Village at Full graphics, no issues. So, I tried verifying the steam files. I cleared the cache for Destiny in Bungie's appdata folder. I even reinstalled the game to a different drive; changing from the NVMI to my normal HDD, and I'm still experiencing the same issue. I know it's a known issue for there to be FPS drops and stuttering, but this has actually made the game unplayable! I can't even load into the game to attempt to adjust my settings to a lower setting to see if it helps! I hope the devs are working on this as we speak, and push a patch soon, especially with Witch Queen coming out in just two weeks. Hopefully, y'all have some advice, or maybe this feedback reaches one of the community gurus so the devs can see it sooner. I'll list my specs below; i7-8700 3.2GHz 32GB of Ram ASRock Z370 motherboard 2080 Ti 8GB Samsung 960 EVO SSD (Game is currently re-installed there) Windows 10 Pro 64-bit system.
