Not buying this game anymore if I end up deleting majority of my vault.

Bros tired of new guns being better

Edited by Illuminary: 2/7/2022 2:03:05 PMProbably a lot of people will think similarly, but if my "great" rolled weapons are better than mediocre new weapons with mediocre perks I'm not deleting them. I kind of share your sentiment but I'm just going to use what I already have if the perks I want aren't there for crafting. Definitely not sharding my subsistence rampage Scathe for some crap 360 elemental AR with a silly origin perk. Crafting will be fun but I'm not going to be forced to make a weapon with something like triple tap dragonfly.

7 RepliesI don’t see why people are attacking this person, or anybody for that matter. It’s just feedback, they aren’t insulting your existence.

Edited by llSpAxXll: 2/8/2022 7:52:06 AMWe should commend for the way they implement this system of introducing new weapons. Your old weapons are far from ‘obsolete’. They will work just fine as they have always done. But rather then hard capping aka hard sun-setting our current weapons you can now keep using them untill you find a suitable replacement. Or.. don’t replace them! Keep using them and they will work nearly just as fine. I applaud Bungie for making this move, much better then forcing it out of our hands.

Edited by hate n payne: 2/9/2022 2:38:23 PMIf something still has use in it regardless if something else comes around with additional components, it is still viable. Think clothes for instance, do you think the new clothing you brought months ago are less important than the ones you brought last month. One clothing you are already comfortable with versus the other you gotta break in. It is all about what you like using at the end of the day. New things are simply new options to extend your playtime but it doesn’t mean it has to replace your old things. Plus if the infinite symbol is on your gear, it can still be used. It just will not have all the other additional components of the new stuff but it doesn’t mean it will be less effective. There is going to be a new weapon that might not even tickle the fancy of what a older weapon you have already does and the same can be said vice versa. Test and play to determine what you need for your arsenal.

1 ReplyYou don’t have to delete anything, a god roll is still a god roll. You can infuse it to power up its light as many times as you want. It doesn’t just suddenly become obsolete, the only thing is new stuff shows up with better stats or that new crafting feature that allows you to craft any god roll you want but those old rolls you have will always work just fine. Destiny is a love service game and things will always be changing, Ive learned this since back in D1. My suggestion is to stop grinding so damn much and just play the game for what it is, I always expect something better each season and each new expansion.

Isnt that kinda the point? To find better weapons and replace old ones? I mean no one is stopping you from using the old ones now that sunsetting weapons got sunset
-
Edited by jidori: 2/7/2022 9:10:07 PMHow are your weapons going to be obsolete? when most of them are bad to begin with.
-
Should cleaned it out years ago

You’re onto something there

That’s how games work, next.

3 RepliesEdited by TheCorruptedGuardian: 2/7/2022 3:11:31 AMSomeone watched lucky video , no bro your vault will not be obsolete, The new WQ weapons can end up being crap we don’t know yet , your old weapons will still be useable , idk why this rumor is flying around .. stupid streamers.. spread bs …smh 🤦🏻♂️
-
I'm not sure you understand what obsolete means..
-
Don't delete any of it then. Unlike how sunsetting worked before, all your stuff will be endgame-viable, it will just have less features. This is exactly how most of us wanted it to work. Incentive =/= forced I personally will keep using my Nightwatch until I find a new Lightweight scout with explosive payload.

Good morning sweetie, welcome to all good modern video games. But seriously what you said would be pretty absurd if you said, “What I don’t start this new Zelda game with everything I had in the last game?!?” right. These are new games, expansions, that allow you to maintain the same character and not start over 100% with every release. Here is another example, “What my career mode from NBA 2k20 doesn’t continue in NBA 2k21?!?”. See dumb and ridiculous.
-
They won’t be obsolete in the slightest. We are just going to be able to craft the new ones how we want them if you put in enough effort with them.
-
6 RepliesYou know no weapon getting sunset right ? All your weapon will still be usable Not sure what you think is happening ...but ok...leave because you have to keep up in a MMO looter game with each expansion
-
I still keep my obsolete weapons in the vault if its a god roll and that if can be used again for other activities such as raids or GMs
-
3 RepliesSeems like the old weapons aren't going to be made useless, but the new weapons are just going to be marginally better. If you can't move on from inferior gear in a looter shooter, you need to pick a different genre.
-
The evolution of how we're going to be approaching weapons is one of the things I'm most looking forward to. If the game is supposed to be build crafty then the weapons should be a huge part of that. Now they will be and I just don't see how people could view this as a bad thing. People wanted the grinding or whatever you were doing to be more likely to lead to a weapon that fits their tastes and playstyle. Its also good for the different amounts of time people put into the game. It also might help lead to further softening of the meta when that switches. And it helps solve issues around how to move things forward at the same time.

1 ReplyThe way it should be. In an ideal world like most MMO's. When a major DLC drops, all previous "legendary weapons" that were part of the past 9-12 months (3-4 seaons) should be capped at that seasons power level and become obsolete. This will then cause you to regrind the new weapons or recycled ones with new rolls etc. What is the point in finding a 67 rolled armor for example and just keeping that for years on end and having to never replace it. Kinda defeats the purpose of the game/grind. TLDR: ALL WEAPONS AND ARMOR SHOULD BE CAPPED AT WHATEVER THE FINAL POWER LEVEL WAS AT THE END OF A DLC.

28 RepliesEdited by duckbomb1: 2/7/2022 3:24:58 AMHere’s my question. It’s an honest one, not trolling. Let’s say Bungie adds 50 guns to the loot pool. I don’t care if they’re re-issue or not, just 50 guns that weren’t obtainable yesterday suddenly are today. That’s good, right? New loot is good? Now… would you rather these weapons be LESS or MORE effective? If they are less, people will complain that they’re stale and crappy cookie cutter examples that aren’t worth the money. If they are more, people will feel that the stuff they have is now useless because it isn’t the best. Honestly, what’s the solution? Only other options is to keep everything exactly the same level of “powerful”, or not to introduce anything at all. Those options also suck. I get it, people hate Bungie. There’s a few extra special forum lurkers who spout their opinions off at every chance and present it as fact. I’d be honestly interested to hear what they’re solution to issues like this are, because to me it doesn’t seem so simple.
-
Well now that sunset 2.0 is kicking into gear I wonder what the expiration date will be on the current loot pool and when it will be announced.
-
11 Replies"I want to use the exact same weapons with absolutely 0 changes for 8 years straight" I swear I will never understand players that don't want new things to chase after

This games one that evolves

You are playing the wrong type of game
