Since Sony is buying Bungie, and us Xbox and PC players are all but guaranteed to return to second class citizen status that we loathed in Destiny 1, we should be allowed to request and receive refunds for our Witch Queen Pre-orders. I fell back in love with Bungie after they ditched Activision, and this new ownership fundamentally changes the relationship between Bungie and its player-base. This should warrant refund considerations. I also feel betrayed to an extent, because I fully bought back into Destiny when Activision was ditched, and now I feel like they pulled a bait n' switch on me.
To the PS users, cheers. Good for you guys.

I mean, the expansion hasn’t release yet. You can just cancel your preorder. If the getting screwed out of content due to Sony platform exclusive stuff starts happening it will be after WQ. Like the next expansion. But if you were just looking for a reason to drop the game entirely, nobody’s gonna stop you. Bungie definitely isn’t going to return $3.6B just to keep your $40-$100 preorder.

1 ReplyYou guys lose your minds over stuff you don’t understand, relax they already confirmed nothing is gonna happen. Im sure they learned from past mistakes

Um you can you have to call Microsoft on that.

5 RepliesDon't worry. It's looking like everything will be fine. From the FAQ posted like 30 minutes ago:
FAQ: Q. As a Destiny 2 player, does Bungie becoming part of PlayStation have any immediate impact on how I play and experience Destiny 2? No. Our commitment to Destiny 2 as a multi-platform game with full Cross Play remains unchanged. We want you to play The Witch Queen on February 22, 2022, on the platform of YOUR choice. Q. Will the Destiny 2 experience on non-PlayStation platforms be impacted by Bungie becoming part of PlayStation? No. We want to maintain the same great experience you already have on your platform of choice. Q. Will any announced seasons, events, packs, or expansions be changed or impacted by Bungie becoming part of PlayStation? No. Bungie retains full creative independence for our games and our community. Our plans for the Light and Dark Saga are unchanged, all the way through The Final Shape in 2024. Q. Will Destiny 2: The Witch Queen include any platform exclusives? No. The Witch Queen will not contain any platform exclusives. Every player should have an amazing Destiny experience, no matter where you choose to play Q. Will cross platform features, like Cross Save, Cross Play, the Destiny 2 Companion App, or third-party apps like Destiny Item Ma-blam!- (DIM) be changed or removed? No. Bungie’s commitment to cross-platform play and social features remains unchanged. We believe games are best shared with friends, wherever they choose to play, and will continue to invest in new features and platforms. Q. Bungie has future games in development, will they now become PlayStation exclusives? No. We want the worlds we are creating to extend to anywhere people play games. We will continue to be self-published, creatively independent, and we will continue to drive one, unified Bungie community. Q. I play Destiny on Steam, Xbox, or Stadia – will my platform still be supported? Yes.
Pay attention to the points surrounding exclusives and player experience.

I think WQ will be fine for the whole community. I’d recommend to skip on the next expansion if bungie continues to make bad decisions.
-
Activision let Bungie go because Destiny didn't make them enough money - seriously - and Bungie and Sony have already said Destiny isn't going anywhere. If they have console or timed exclusives, then you can be upset, as will I.
-
2 RepliesSo the part where bungie/sony said no platform exclusivity for witch queen just went over your head?
-
2 RepliesAll of you who are saying that this means nothing, or are buying Bungie's half-assed explanation need to watch Aztecross's video linked here.

Yes, refunds should be allowed for sure but that's in general. I definitely recommend making informed purchase decisions for sure, regardless of the platform. It's a hassle but companies changes all the time but hey, I got my money's worth with everything leading up to Beyond Light in enjoyment alone. But Witch Queen, I will wait to see what substantial changes to the gameplay are being made overtime because alot of issues definitely won't be fixed in the 1st month. Took me a long time to realize that Bungie needs ALOT of time to update stuff which gives me ALOT of time to play other stuff.

Cool story. See you in February.

Reaction Type - Over. Warranted - Un. Let’s wait and see what happens. I remember the past moments involving Sony, but we’ll see where this thing goes.
Hotel - Trivago.
