Idea to improve destiny's impossible task of balance

What if you allowed for armor mods to be more resistant to certain weapon damages. For example, I noticed I get one tapped with with fusion rifles to the body quite a bit. You get small amounts of damage resistance to weapon types of your choosing. You would only get one armor mod slot available, so you could only equip 1 type of weapon to resist. Obviously you get hit in the head it doesn't matter it should be a one tap. But you get hit in the legs or chest the mod would come into play. This way players would have to adjust to different loadouts to counter. Not just maining the same weapons every game. I don't think this will solve everything but it might be a way to keep players happy? Idk just a thought.

    • You will NEVER balance pvp. Period. You either accept it or you don’t. No amount of whatever great idea anyone has will ever “bring balance”. Everyone wants something different and it will ALWAYS be a conflict with the players and bungie.

      • Maybe we should just have a timer/kill counter method that deploys a super weapon a la C&C. Imagine hearing something like "Ion Cannon Deployed" or "Temple of Nod Detected" and wipe the entire opposing team out thus forcing restart/respawn. You know, a Doomsday machine to "restore balance in the force". Sorry, just going bonkers waiting for WQ to start so we can have a more current meta/balance debate. IDK either Guardian, just a random thought as well.

        • I'm not sure if that will clog up the mod list more or not. We already have damage resistance mods against energy types (except Stasis) and damage categories; sniper, AoE and melee. I don't know if those are active in PvP: if they are, the effect is not noticeable. Ultimately, it would all depend on implementation.

          • Don't know how doable that would be but I've found myself wanting something like this for fusion rifles. Either something like that or a mode where the point of the mode was to not have the kinds of things that kill you to the body in one shot from far away to begin with.
