Ticcu's catalyst grind is stupid!
I have been grinding on this stupid thing for way too long. I have come to the conclusion that the catalyst is not going to happen...possibly ever. I am now just hoping ghoul drops so I can farm that catalyst and just have fun with ticcus in the cosmodrome. Bungie, please make this catalyst a bit more obtainable. It is quite ridiculous. I will not play your crucible because it is also broken and filled with hacks. Thank you.

Thank you.[/quote] All PvP quest steps should be removed. Bungie needs to stop forcing people into a game mode they don’t want to play in, just to get stomped.

1 ReplyI just did the quest myself. It took two days to get the 50 gaurdian kills with Ticuu's. I only ADS like 6 or 7 times, mostly got clean up hip fire blows. The actual calibration took another day. I haven't finished the actual catalyst itself, but I can say just from the experience, it wasn't worth it. I mean, all that work, and you can only use one exotic at a time, and since then I got a few that are so awesome, it makes it hard to only use Ticcus even if it is really good at most everything. Just saying, they could lower the requirements for PVP since it really sucks at PVP. It's hip fire doesn't have to be that weak, and it should apply burning. Plenty of other weapons with dual functions that aren't designed that way.

Agreed, any grind is just insane. God forbid we actually have to play the game that we got. I, for one, can't wait till they just offer every catalyst completion for silver. It would just be so nice to pay for everything I could already do for free. Keep fighting, guardian! You know I'll be in the trenches watching you complete everything I've already done. 👍

5 RepliesLol I just finished mida. 200 hundred precision kills in crucible and that’s after you get the catalyst in glory playlist. Mida is so weak now that it’s the worse it’s ever been. But despite that I got it and even though I probably have a .0005 crucible kd I finished it in about 4 days. I hated every second of it but I’m only missing the vex catalyst ( because I don’t have vex yet) . Keep at it and you will get it my friend

Believe me it is worth I am not good at pvp but sometimes I could kill 3 bc of the explosion 😂 first hipfire then without it, repeat

1. Stop hip firing 2. Momentum control is one body shot 3. It's just 17 kills I think with the booster

I totally agree with you, the Catalyst had been in my quest list forever, and I was 100% sure of not getting it done because I do NOT enjoy playing Crucible, cus I suck at pvp. But Momentum Control and that thingy in the season pass that boost your Catalyst progress 🙂 made it happen, think I did around 10 matches. So you just wait for Momentum.

7 RepliesThis may sound a little odd but I honestly do ALL of my Crucible related activities/requirements in Mayhem (if permitted). No one is looking for gun play so just hang back and wait. Mayhem is the only PvP I can honestly enjoy so it's not terrible for me.

Stay in the back and spray them down with hip fire then take them out as they approach. Everyone will be more aggressive and charging at you to use their super and you'll be able to tag them and get your kill shot often enough that it's not near as long as trying it in a regular play list where Guardians are a bit more cautious. That said it still probably took me 10-12 games to get enough credit for the kills to complete it. Hang in there. It's worth it. That bow is crazy good for fireteam support, rank and file clearing and stunning overload champs in PvE. Enjoy yourself Guardians!

3 RepliesHave you seen the Polaris Lance catalyst? The kills are easy, but the 50 kills with Perfect Fifth is the problem. Perfect Fifth specifically says landing 4 head shots turn the 5th shot into an explosive payload. Perfect Fifth is an explosion, but the catalyst only progresses with kills from the BURN damage that isn't even implied to exist anywhere on the weapon. If this is intentional, I missed that post from Bungie, if not, they've had since season 2 or 3 to fix this.

Just keep plugging away you'll get there I am useless in pvp and I managed it. You know if you just use the targeted shots they don't count right. And it says defeat 50 guardians but you need legit 100% your kill and has to be with fully drawn arrow in the end I found it easier to just use it like any other bow just peak and aim for head shots rather than actually using it as I was intended to be used...in pve...where it belongs lol
