The title states it all. I just started Shadowkeep a few days ago. Today I log in to 4 or 5 different cutscenes of apparently the new content, rushed into it like I didn't just pay for Shadowkeep and Beyond Light. So I leave Europa to go back to the Moon to continue Shadowkeep, and the quest for the new content shows completed now, even though I didn't do anything.
You guys are on par with World of Warcraft's storytelling. Absolute freakin trash. Free games like Warframe can manage a better story than your trash can.
I'd rather sniff cow dung.

Edited by Smough: 1/3/2022 7:41:47 AMIt’s hard to disagree that forcing players, especially new ones, into activities and story missions is a bad idea.

2 RepliesEdited by WhiteInk47: 1/3/2022 12:32:09 AMBungie decided to remove 3/4ths of the story in the game a while ago. Soon enough even more, then they also now force the player to load into the beginning mission of each expansion and season on game load (which all occur at different points in the stories timeline). This is to incentivize you to buy things. This is why you’re confused. There are also many relevant story details and references to events you’ll never know because you literally can’t experience them anymore. TLDR: they don’t care about new players experiencing the story, and they don’t care about preserving the content in the game at all

While I agree it’s pretty bad, rarely anyone I play with says they do so for the story. Most are for the slower laid back shooter gameplay and others for the PvP(I know shocking for the forum to hear). So while I agree, I don’t blame Bungie for being ridiculed so long about the story to just start meshing stuff together.

I can tell you’re new here.

After hitting a specific Power level, players will be automatically launched into new seasonal activities, and since we're at the end of the year, there are 4 seasons worth of quests. The Shadowkeep campaign is now legacy content, and it's more accurate to say you're going back to experience past events while the live game have progressed since that campaign ended more than 2 years ago.

Ok new light why don’t you crawl back to your grave

Destinys story isn't bad, its just really badly told. You have to do so much external reading and watching for it to make any sense at all. Bungo has done an abysmal job of actually articulating the story in game since D1 Y1. As for WoW, I played that game since Kara and the story was alright at first. It was the end of Cata when it went to crap. The story is an total disaster now.

and yet, World of Warcraft was at one time, the most popular game in the world

Edited by madgamer438: 1/2/2022 9:48:01 PMIt's funny you mention WoW, Luke Smith was Scarab lord in WoW, I think Luke Smith is still in charge at Bungie, so it's no wonder why it seems as though Destiny is being turned into WoW. The overgrind from chasing ones own tail me sick, that's why I stopped paying for Bungie's crap.
