It’s a hybrid algorithm and it sucks because it’s poorly implemented. Like most things in this game.

Think what you want to think - Bungie admitted only to connection based. So, how about we stop complaining about things we have no control over, and just work on ourselves. Obviously there are people who take no issue with the current set up and/or learned to work around it since more people have gotten Unbroken and Flawless Seals when they made the switch.

Yes, the top 1/3 of players like it. Especially when they post for 2.0+ K/D 6 stack control stomp teams. The bottom half of players get stomped and go play PvE or other games. I've tried to improve at PvP and I'm almost up to a 1 K/D overall in trials. This is up from a 0.7 a year ago. The current solo queue lobby balancing where in my experience the top 3 players were all on one team in 80% of my matches made me download Skyrim.
