Although it is only a difference of 2 seconds, it really feels like a bad change. Doesnt change the pace of the game at all and takes you out of the game even more if you are getting steam rolled. 2 deaths almost makes it as much as 3 deaths when counting time out of game, and doubles every 2 deaths. 3-5 seconds is where it should be IMO.
Edit: Grammar.

1 ReplyYeah I'd rather be spawn killed on rare occasions than wait longer to respawn all of the time. It's not killing me to wait, but still would be nice to spend more time playing and less time waiting to play.
-
I don't mind it that much in 6v6, especially in obj. gamemodes, but it absolutely sucks in Rumble. I feel as though it would've been better if they tested this out for only a week in Control/IB, like how they've been doing Trials Labs recently. Then they would take the data from that, shared said data with the community (i.e. in a TWAB), and then made their decision on it after taking the feedback from both the general playerbase and their internal testers/sandbox team (or whichever group that type of work is usually assigned to).
-
They should add back to the force respawn option from D1 and keep the default longer respawn timers
-
7 RepliesOmg that timer does my head in. Yeah you solve the spawns by not having you spawn next to an enemy it's pretty simple, yet they still can't figure that out, the amount of times I spawn with the enemy team is mind blowing.
-
Another idiot Bungie move. Doing things no one asks for and making the game more and more frustrating.
-
1 ReplyDoes anyone at bungie actually play this game? How could they think this was a good idea? Let's make it so people can spawn camp even easier!
-
1 ReplyIt actually makes things worse. It literally leaves more time for the enemy to get in your teams spawn. And with this games Lobby Balancing that’s a horrible combination.
-
5 RepliesHad the opposite of the intended effect. The intent was to reduce spawn killing. It made spawn killing worse because the enemy has even more time to traverse the map back after defeating to you go to the opposite spawn and defeat you again as you spawn. In addition, it causes a snowball effect. Longer spawn times mean less players on the field to assist the surviving guardians who get hunted down and defeated. Just as they’re defeated, the spawning guardians are found and defeated, then the previously defeated guardians are now spawning and defeated. It causes a vicious cycle. As a result of that cycle, it’s hard to dig yourself out of a hole once in one. At least before fast spawns meant you could get back in faster and help your team. I feel I can say after giving it a fair and honest try that’s it’s pretty blatantly (in my opinion) a change for the worse.

3 RepliesNothing about the crucible changes feels good. Of the 3 games I played to test things out (one elim, one rumble, one control) the control match only saw 8 supers, not even 12. Ability play was near non existent and I didn't get into a single ability v ability fight. It was slow and nobody wanted to fight. Elimination was extremely boring and supers took until final round (like 4-4 final) to come up. Only abilities being used were melees and dodges. Rumble? Worst offender. I played the match without seeing a SINGLE ABILITY PERIOD. And people didn't want to fight so bad that after 3 minutes on WORMHAVEN. The most one of us had was 5 points. Changes suck and made PvP boring exactly like I knew they would.
-
I didn't feel much difference.
-
This is why they stopped the 7 second spawn in countdown or lockdown one of the 2 because of this very reason
-
1 Replyincreased death time, means more time for the opponents to get to my spawn and trap/kill me repeatedly. Brilliant move bungie. More time my team has less players meaning potentially mismatches in player vs player.. so a bigger divide in the score. If bungie really though this change was going to benefit the game.. I'd really like to hear or read what they were thinking.. If this was the intended result, they nailed it but, it feels bad for the game.
-
I've only played a few IB matches but this is the only change I don't care for. it is only 2 sec but it is noticeable and pretty annoying.
-
Tbh I don't think it changes anything both for negative or positive. I've not see a reduction in spawn trapping, a reduction in killing someone with the same super. Nor have I seen an increase in spawn trapping or same super killing. It hasn't changed spawning in the enemies half or improved spawn locations. I'm fine with the change but it hasn't done anything to affect crucible
-
who thought it was a good idea? tell me the persons name ! does he play quickplay? this change makes it even easier to go to other spawn and pick up those unfortunate guardians spawning right at their gunpoint , seen it happen myself, spawning right infront of me multiple times now
-
2 RepliesThe reason the long respawn doesn't work cause the maps are small as hell , and there are 6 players on each team. longer respawn isn't the answer
-
1 ReplyI had no clue they change the spawn timer, haven't really played Crucible in a while only Trials since PvP atm is pretty dull (no maps or exciting changes in Crucible etc.)... Idk, in a game like Destiny with their current maps and how small most of them are, wouldn't a longer spawn timer help enemy teams reach and commit spawn killing a little easier? Essentially encouraging snowballing teams even more? I would imagine so but again, havent played Crucible in a while so idk how the changes will may benefit PvP game modes in the future.
-
1 ReplyPVP feels worse yet again. Worse upon worser-er.
-
It isn't, we keep getting spawned trapped if we don't get the first couple of kills. I've gotten sniped like 4 time in a row in my spawn animation.
-
9 RepliesMyself along with the streamer/influencer community believe this change will help the randoms/ common casuals have a better chance of success.
-
Well I have been noticing a lot more team shooting going on, so it definitely changed something.
-
2 RepliesSeems like one of them changes they tacked on in the last week or so before pushing the patch and never really played around with that much.
-
Just another way to help the sweats stomp casuals.
-
Damn I felt it was longer but had no idea
-
1 ReplyEdited by damnter: 12/12/2021 4:44:15 PMYeah, only more time for the enemy team to get to the spawnpoint to spawnkill you. On top of that you also still get spawned allone with the entire enemy team around. 🤷♂️ And it takes the speed out of the game. Maybe they should start working on better connections and better 6v6 maps. Only pvp I can still enjoy is trialls and clash once every six weeks. 😑 Every type of (zone)control is such a 💩 gamemode.

I don't know those additional seconds can probably help yah not die to the same roaming super or hopefully give the spawn mechanic thingy time to put yah in a better place
