By getting rid of campaign missions and leaving vital story plots to the lore nerds you guys have succeeded in making a game that is hostile to literally anyone who hasn’t played Destiny before.
I simply can’t recommend this game to someone knowing im going to have to teach them how to slog through light levels and explain vital story point again- explaining the LEVELING MECHANICS and PLOT of this game isnt my -blam!- job.
You want to know why New Light players tend to be absolutely clueless and in constant need of having their hands held? Its because Bungie has no introduction STORY line that carries the players through each planet and instead makes them find random missions on (seemingly) random, disconnected planets.
This bores people to DEATH because you failed to create an impelling hook from the VERY beginning of the game
So now my strategy for getting people involved in the game is to have them get hooked on the bounty system and weekly challenges
Which now turns this game from a narrative driven mmorpg into a mindless grind FROM THE VERY START- which causes players to put the game down without even touching any story plots.
Bungie, you have to fix this GLARING issue for new players, this system of turning interested players into grind zombies is such a toxic and manipulative way to keep players engaged.

They expect you to find outside sources to understand what the heck is going on. Bungie "you" need to teach players "your" game. Stop relying on YouTubers to teach your game.
