Titans have, barricades, citans, ursas, bubble... Warlocks have well, healing rifts, op stais grenades... But hunters really dont have anything that can outdo well or bubble, nightstalker is the only viable option if you want to survive but not really anything else, celestial is trash, raiden flux is -blam!-, star eaters got nerfed, orpheus rig got nerfed, radiant dance machines got nerfed.
And before anyone says hunter have revenant, yes we do but warlock has a better stasis subclass for high end pvp, its just sad cause nightstalker has no uses apart from being invis, and even invis sucks sometimes due to some enemies having tracking on weapons.
Now dont get me wrong, ive clutched some gm's with invis, but it still lacks, if my only purpose is to smoke and throw grenades(omniocolus), why bother even playing hunter.
All im asking is a buff/rework for hunter supers to be viable in pve, not pvp. And as a sidenote, screw shatterdive and its existance, hate that poop. Not asking for hunters to be on top, just asking for hunters to be on par with some of the titan/warlock subclasses.
No hate to titans or warlocks with this post, just wanted to say something about hunters feeling weak in high end pve.

… You just listed all the goods of warlock and Titan and listed all the bads of hunters. That’s not how arguments work.

1 ReplyRevenant and Celestial Goldie are also useful IMO. Whilst Warlocks and Titans may specialise in team-buffing, healing and survival stuff, they dont have anywhere near the solo clutch potential that Hunters have. Things go belly up on a GM, its often the Hunter that saves the run. 💪 And I say that as a Warlock main, no Hunter bias from me!

1 ReplyI mean maybe the warlocks and titans i run into just arent good but i tend to be highest or 2nd highest dps on raid bosses on my hunter every time, id say thats pretty useful
-
1 ReplyBottom tree Nightstalker would like a word. If you can't get good DPS with it, you aren't a hunter.
-
Good.

1 ReplyThe Stasis Shuriken build is pretty good. Lots of Orbs and quick support Super.

I find that hunter is great for solo content, so there's that. Top tree nightstalker and bottom tree gunslinger are viable in any endgame content. And I hear that hunters are popular in the crucible. You can't have it all.

I see stasis, top tree solar with Nighthawk, top tree void with Omnioculus, and bottom tree void all the time in raids and GMs. I'd say Titans have less to offer its just bubble and thundercrash.

2 Repliesyknow aside from being able to throw infinite shurikens at overloads, or running agers scepter with a correct mult-damage boost build yeah totally not pve viable

hunters are extremely pvp focussed, to the point of them being sometimes braindead (i have my grudges), its a big part of their design. but considering how many people pick hunter, i think its a good thing that hunters arent that good in endgame pve. its makes people push off to a second character to flush out character picks. if hunter has a pve buff they would just be everywhere. its also acts as a fliter for the people who will just switch off to a titan or warlock, and for the people who want to touch that high skill ceiling that comes with hunter in endgame pve, the true hunter mains. while this could probably do with a change, i think its fine how it is honestly.

I have been thinking for quite a while that hunters should get a damage buff super for the next super. It should work like well and bubble and give a strong damage buff for any allies standing near the hunter but if none are standing near the hunter then only said hunter is being damaged buffed by their own super. It’d really add a supportive offensive capability like well and bubble.

3 RepliesI had to change to Warlock last season to do most of the end game content. Hunters have very little options to the team in way of contribution. Most times in LFG if you were a hunter and joined a GM you got kicked straight away. I changed to Warlock because of the mentality players had got that Hunters have no purpose in end game. I must say that I'm really enjoying the Warlock Solar top tree build with Sunbracers, Warminds and awesome DPS weapons. Makes end game stuff very doable solo and in a fireteam.

7 RepliesBut Hunters are the most broken guardians in pvp though. All they use is stasis because there's is broken too. It's obvious bungie ain't going to do anything so I don't do pvp unless I can help it
-
I guess true? I have great fun playing hunter for lower level PVE stuff but for tougher stuff that needs hard boss damage my Titan & Warlock have better tools (thundercrash! chaos reach! etc.) If I have good enough teammates that don’t mind me bringing my hunter then I’ll go stasis or tether. I see lots of complaints about stasis hunter in PVP being OP so I guess it evens out?

1 Replyyeah I agree, the lack of survivability and dps potential makes hunter go only void bottom. Arc strider or goldie should have better flexibility and higher damage so that it can do it's job.

agreed. i’d like to see hunters get a powerful supportive/defensive super sometime, with an exotic or one of the new subclass reworks
