1 ReplyBut then everything in D3 woulda just been them bringing back D2 stuff like they do now with D1. "We're bringing back an old favorite, the Last Wish... but with Super Duper Champions! Only $100 for the deluxe edition that includes an old favorite, Edge Transit."
-
6 RepliesHell no. I'd rather keep all my stuff.
-
14 RepliesI don’t understand the mentality behind this opinion for a destiny 3. When’s the last time anyone went back to D1 and did a Skolas run? An Archons forge? How about a tier 3 court of Oryx? Exactly little to nobody plays super old content. It’s sucks too see it go away but if bungie keeps everything in the game people will just start complaining about load times again.

Game is fine

Edited by Major-Payne: 10/10/2021 7:33:12 PMWhy? I along with other people spend $60-$70 a year for content for the same game. I’ll have a 1,000 in this game before 2027 when D3 comes out. That’s -blam!- genius. I’ve never really understood throwing a fit over removed content. I mean how many years has it been sitting there and DCV is no surprise to anyone now.
-
2 RepliesI agree. D3 should have been a thing, right before sunsetting occurred.
-
No chance. They needed babysat, helped by several studios, and pressured to get d2 out. Much easier to use an archaic engine and just trickle garbage in and out.

17 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 10/9/2021 1:30:58 AMD3 would need a brand new… State of the art Engine Net Code Hamster Wheel Destruction Dedicated 128Hz Servers Competent Devs Writing Team with solid focus on canon & direction Focus away from Eververse UI Investment Never gonna happen

2 RepliesAbsolutely not. I’m not losing all my exotics again and in some cases gonna have to pay for them a 3rd time. No friggin way
-
Oh no my three year old location that I loathe loading into is going away, even tho I hate the tangled shore.

I would take it the other direction. They shouldn’t have released a D2. Just keep adding in original Destiny. This is more of a marketing point than a technical one. And please don’t use the storyline to justify D2. The storyline is whatever it needs to be for us to shoot stuff.
-
27 RepliesAnd lose our progress again ? Especially now in D2 to that has more content ? HELL NO BOY
-
8 RepliesNah I'm happy with the gear we've grinded for since 2017, don't feel like losing it again

u know it’s bs they keep taking away content if they going to take stuff away why not make d3 so i can still play d2 content
Actually it's not BS. Taking content away wouldn't be an issue if they were replacing that content with content of equal value. Now that will vary from person to person, but IMO bringing D1 content into this game and these seasons along with making a mess of the story/campaign is not of "equal value". The problem is, they are trying to take 2 games and make it one, and their outdated engine is not helping them in any way.

Well bungie had d3 redy to ship but change director or back to the d2 year 1 director who canceled d3 and turned it in to bound light as bungie think it can turn d2 in to a mmorpg if it volt s content but the main resin way bungie volt is not for space its to control what You play as the session content is not thet fun bungie have a way of makeing muney without haveing to keep the community Happy or work hard first it sells dlc content for as high a price as it thinks it can get a way with then it uses all its resources to make eververse content and lost it voltds content to take way the option of going back to older content and not buying new content its wrong i no but its not hard to see bungie has stoped care about what the community wants the community told bungie we do not want more d2 but bungie is just doing what it wants

They can't. They don't have any competent developers left. They can only fool around with the old rotting code.

2 RepliesEdited by UncleObscene: 10/9/2021 12:11:04 PMYup.. They should've ended D2 after Shadowkeep. The problem with making a D3 was.. could you imagine if they released Beyond Light and just slapped a D3 label on it? They would've been laughed out of the industry. Unless, they included all seasonal content and their storylines minus the time gating, on top of finding a way to keep things engaging. But, we all know that would never happen. It's more profitable and manageable selling seasons at $10, restarting the hamster wheel that is light leveling, and having us re-grind it 3-4 times through the same tired bounties and areas already in game. Look at how you needed to buy prior season passes to get just the seasonal exotic and its quest you may have missed ! You didnt get to get the fruits or perks of those seasons passes, you just paid $10 to get the exotic weapon minus the boost to level the catalyst and skin. Bungie is very slick with how they dig into your pockets with fomo and little delivery of compelling content. They believe that grinding light level, while gatekeeping content you had access to prior... is compelling content. Bad thing is.... there is a huge community that eats it up, whether it be vets sticking around to finish the journey they started in D1 or beginning of D2 or the new age gamers that have been conditioned to pay full price for games and then expected to pay extra for cut content and microtransactions that seems to be the model for most games nowadays. This is not a dig at them, it's just the unfortunate era of gaming that has been around for the last decade they fell into. All in all sticking with D2 and the DCV is easier for them to manage on their outdated and finicky Tiger engine, while making a maximum profit with less resources dedicated to the IP. I actually feel that Bungie regrets their decision, vision and promise of a 10yr franchise. Destiny is like a mile wide lake, but only a foot deep as it stands now...imo.

Aslong as they make money they'll continue with Destiny 2
-
Yes! I'd rather see the darkness wipe out the tower for good and start again. I hate the fact that the stuff I earned and used to play is still kinda around, but useless. Gimme new crap if you wanna do away with all the old crap. This give and take -blam!- is garbage.
-
6 RepliesNope, don't feel like starting all over again, just to get the same stuff again.
-
When d3 comes, I am done. Vanilla D2 was painful, took D2 to long to recover!
-
Edited by Atreuss: 10/9/2021 7:08:06 AMAgreed. It's to the point that D2 should have ended with all this vaulting issue. It's only going to get worse. I think they are too busy with other games and entertainment development to care anymore.

1 ReplyEdited by KayOsS882: 10/9/2021 5:03:58 AMThis the problem with people here. They complain and moan about the current content. Saying it’s boring and repetitive. But once bungie mentioned that they’re taking it away to make room for newer content. All sudden the so called boring and repetitive content are fun again. This is exactly what toddlers do. They don’t touch their toys for years, but once you take it away, all sudden it’s the end of the world.

11 RepliesIf they made D3 everything would've been taken away and you'd have to start over A G A I N Better to just take out old content and upgrade/preserve D2. Rotate things in and out so the player's gear, achievements, etc. are all left intact.
