Youre gonna have to force flawless players to play other flawless players Bungie, cause we all know they wont with the "flawless pool"
Literally all theyre going to do is reset at 6 wins so they dont have to match against other sweats. Im honestly confounded that yall didnt see that coming... I had a good experience in my trials matches recently and ive always been able to hold my own in pvp but its become clear that i am a rare case in this regard. You guys are close to making trials good... But i think if you dont address the problem of streamers and sweatlords purposefully being lazy oppressive scumbags and taking advantage of the match making and card system trials will simply die again. Ive never been Flawless and with the way the current system is i dont want to go flawless, that statement alone tells you the state of certain things.

2 RepliesThats not why theyre resetting at 6. Theyre caring/ helping other players get their flawless. Carrie's are not against ToS, so youre gonna have to suck it up and deal with it. Yall wanted this change, they found a way to continue skiing what they do. The only difference is they aren't getting rewards themselves for doing it. It appalls me to see so many people complain about people in the community helping others. Im an average player. 1.4'ish kid, 0.84 in trials. I went flawless for the first time in D2 the first week, then went flawless 3 more times after that. This week, went flawless once. After that we'd get 1-2 wins then stomped back to back. This recent change was tailored to the bottom tier players that are fine with going flawless once and being done. However, it negatively effects mid tier players that want to try going flawless more than once a week. True top tier players that aren't carrying will still have a decent chance in the flawless pool.

Firstly, the only people resetting at 6 are those doing carry cards. Secondly; they don't have to force anything. They just need to make the rewards worth the effort for playing og 5500 comp level games. Right now, they're really not. Granted, it did get easier as the pool expanded, but Friday night's flawless pool was a different game.

This generation that I have the displeasure and shame of being apart of cannot do math or see bad trends. If more people went flawless and we can clearly see that the top brass will always go flawless who do you think have to face the top brass the noment they go flawless? I don't care for the sweats but some sweats actually help people how can they do that if they are facing one of their own with a friend clearly not at their level? You hate stacks but since forced this change the best option is still a team solo q is dead too many sweats. Trials is regressing because of stupid changes that is supposed to favor a bad bracket of players that still can't capitalize off it. Bad players will never go flawless or win for that matter but some casual and average can that is a far better trade off than to attempt to appeal to a group that don't have the fortitude much less skill for trials. Silly change and it shows. Everyone that has gone flawles over the course of this week and last is not a top 0.1 % player and I am sick of the game being based around people I should not see.

2 RepliesI think finding ways to encourage them/reward then for playing people their own skill level is the way to do it. Some sort of seasonal trials leaderboard would accomplish this, whereby you only get ranked leaderboards points if you're in the flawless pool & maybe the higher you're ranked, the greater chance you have of facing other higher ranked opponents. Essentially you create a way for the best players to start funneling towards each other & actually get rewarded for playing the best people. A leaderboard, showing let's say the top 500 trials players... You have to speak to what motivates these types of players, & put simply it's ego. Their real lives are embarrassing failures,the game is the only way they get to feel powerful in anyway,. So they'll never stop finding ways to avoid facing people their own skill level unless you find ways to make it benefit them for doing so. Maybe at the end of a season they get some kind of crazy exclusive rewards for finishing within the top 500 or something.

Personally, I think the flawless pool can go away as long as they keep some form of SBMM along with card matching. Basically I think matchmaking just needs to do the following... * look for as many opponents as possible that are at the same level on their cards AND have a good connection to you. * Out of all those opponents you would get matched to the ones closest to your skill level. Matches may still be lopsided depending on who is available to match with, but at least you know that an attempt was made to make your match as competitive as possible.

21 RepliesAgreed. They top guys need to face real competition and take accountability. I feel the Flawless Pool should stay. Expose the weaknesses and get better by facing real talent. They need to stop the crying for -blam!- to be made easier or people like me will never have a chance at trying to train in the flawless pool to see where im truly at skill wise. I don't think bungie can fix the issue with resets tho. Its clearly a BEHAVIOR & MENTALITY issue. These guys clearly don't play fighting games or lab at all because people in the FGC would call out that BS in a heart beat and tell you to get your -blam!- to the lab. Flawless Pool needs to be a pool of accountability for real skill and dedication. Not some modified pool for everyone to get rewards. I say let them cry and stand firm on getting good. The more bungie caters to peoples weaknesses, people will never get strong or have the respect for bungie wanting to strenghthen player skill. The guys that have been on the high horse crying about losses, stats or content need a reality check in my book . . .

Ironically it's only a very select amount of flawless players with nothing better to do that will stay, players like me are already burned out and will leave, then the mid tier players will fold and so on and so on....

They don't even have to do that... all they have to do is lose 2 games on a mercy card and then ROF-stomp everybody and carry whoever to the lighthouse.. me and buddy were on a 2 loss card before we said -blam!- it trying to go flawless and we won 8 straight... just imagine if we were really good enough to stomp lobbies...

1 ReplyThe poor service streamers already announce to not play on fridays and reset at 6 wins. LOL that shows you how "skilled" they are, can't play against skilled players but can stomp low skilled ones to go on 200 win streaks. Sad sad times. But knowing Bungie they will cater to their poor service streamers who can't win against equally skilled players and turn off the flawless pool.

All the streamers get together and agree to reset at 6. They all want to stomp nobodies so that they don't hurt each other's "brand". Putting together farming montages for Twitch and YT is better than going flawless for them.

Its ok they will shoot themselves in the foot. Eventually these actions will force Bungie to push SBMM in the game mode then they will all be complaining just like those whinging about the flawless matchmaking.

3 RepliesI’m not going to fault the people that do free carries to get people to the lighthouse that would never get there otherwise for resetting at 6 wins so they can help as many people as possible. It still sucks running into them but what you gonna do 🤷🏼♂️ Though, the people who just run stack and reset at 6 to gatekeeper and stat pad though... But those who go flawless a lot and are great players now complaining future cars are though and hard, wasn’t that what those types of player were saying Trials should be all these past seasons, and if you want to win against rest players then you need to git gud? Also aren’t those the type of games they were already having since it was just them playing before last weekend? Just so odd how the (over generalization) PvP community loves to cannibalize themselves and fight constant civil wars amongst the factions.

10000%. They are trying to make this week fail. Numbers are still great though. Bungie sees what they are doing. If Bungie cannot solve the resetting issue, they may have no choice but to go with skilled based matchmaking, which the people would hate even more.
