Can we please have a non exotic trace-rifle in the loot-pool?
Or is it to much to ask for?
As Fusion rifles are the new meta maybe we can get something for the players that do not attend GMNF or Super-duper raids?
And there are mods that would make Trace rifles really good!
Com on Bungie, I know you are thinking about it

1 ReplyCouple of things that will be required to have this happen. 1. Rework Coldheart. One of it's perks is literally "I'm a trace rifle lmao". 2. Stock lower damage than the exotics. 3. Stock lower magazines than the exotics. 4. Some new perks specifically for these legendaries. I don't really ever see this happening though. As we now have 5 exotic trace rifles.

Trace rifles are basically just faster firing autos with large mags. They need tunning to be meta outside low end content like strikes. I think they should get infinite ammo since have similar TTKs to primaries. Also the best fusion rifles in game right now are available in general loot pools. Coriolis force drops from Europa content and there is a rapid fire world drop fusion that can roll vorpal.

They would need to buff the exotics because they’re legit useless and their perks are nearly arbitrary. This might push them way over the meta and cause the legendaries to get taken down with them.

It’s to much to ask for. Why you might ask. Well one it’s bungie. But two. How would normal perks for a trace rifle work for a legendary version. That’s half the reason why bungie has yet to do something like that. They would either have to make perks specifically for that weapon or try to make existing perks work. So you can ask all you want. But with zero idea of what you want bungie has nothing they can work off of. An it’s bungie. They to damn lazy to begin with most of the time.

2 RepliesThey will probably give us a blue trace rifle that does 1 dmg per tick and only holds 50 ammo per magazine, with its only perk being threat detector.

2 RepliesIf they add a legendary trace rifle with random perks, no special perk, but the same time to kill, it basically makes the exotics useless except for their perks, same reason there are no legendary linear fusions that use special ammo They'd either have to nerf the legendary version into the ground to keep the exotics worth being exotics, or buff the exotic trace rifles and break the game by making them insane My guess anyway, I dont know

Whilst I agree, that’d be cool I think it’s a really bad idea. First and foremost they’d need a whole set of unique perks and you can’t give them many existing perks or they’ll render the exotic ones not useless but less than worth it. For example, coldheart against a rampage legendary trace rifle… I think that you’re on to something though. Bungie most definitely considered it but went with the glaive.

Shooting an enemy would latch the beam onto them and then you could aim to the side to make a curve. Killing enemies would latch it to an enemy near it. The more you bend the more damage. The beam would be more sporatic than straight, kinda like ghostbusters.
