Decrypting The Darkness Is Missing/Bugged
Made a Warlock last night and finally came around to upgrading my gear and I cannot seem to get the quest for "Decrypting The Darkness" to spawn. I own all past seasons, and I have all Legacy Quests locked at the step of decoding an umbral engram via the quest. I have decoded over 20 umbral engrams now and in Season of the Lost, one of the challenges is to focus an engram. How can I do such a thing if the recaster will not show anything I can focus??
Please someone help me...

I'm having the same issue on my Hunter and Warlock. HELM is not giving me Decrypting The Darkness at all.

Update: Mine was locked like yours but I got an umbral engram from a completely different source. I’m sorry I can’t remember where it dropped but it wasn’t in override or the new arena. With the engram it gave me the next quest steps when I visited the helm.

While Bungie Help (on Twitter) says that the Decrypting the Darkness quest can now be acquired and completed, I'm still not able to do that. I want to be able to progress in the season.

RIP, just joined the clan of "Decrypting the Darkness" is broken. Came back after a lengthy break and i'd be lying if I said I'm not having any regrets. Hopefully this gets fixed quickly.

Literally did all the campaigns again and got help from friends. still hasnt made any progress. farmed umbral engrams and did splicer missions and both are now at the decrypting the darkness mission and the umbral decoder still will not give me the next mission.

Also having this issue. Please fix! Bug prevents me from even using the Prismatic Recaster at all.

Yeah, im having the same issue. Cant Do any season content on 2 of my 3 characters and im stuck with three quests all telling me to complete Decrypting The Darkness, but the Table refuses to give me the quest. I was hoping to see it mentioned in the Hotfix

Nothing in the Weekly TWAB. I would dearly love a bug-fix sometime soon since its locking me out of content I paid for. Tried deleting and starting again (twice) - nadda. Nothing. Zip. This also means I can't do the focusing aspects of the weekly triumphs. Which is, as you can understand, all manner of frustrating. Thank you, Aurora313

3 RepliesHaving the same issue on both of my Alts, one of which, I have decided to main instead of my previous main in past seasons. This makes it extremely difficult to get the high stat gear you want, AND knock out seasonal triumphs…. So they have known about it for over a week and done nothing? Instead fixing bugs that no one gives a -blam!- about? Cmon!!

Same issue on my alt. Titan worked fine Hunter cannot progress, I have tried multiple random drops with no success can't progress this quest no matter what I try. I also cannot interact with the war table either 🤷♂️ Please help bungie!!

1 ReplySame issue. I've tried all these and it doesn't work so don't waste your time on it. So far I have: Cleared D2 cache, reinstalled the game, deleted and restarted the character, completed the shadowkeep, forsaken, and beyond light campaigns, done all available season content so far, done all new light quests, and it's STILL not there.

They are in no Rush to fix this. Who cares some ppl cant use umbral focus mechanic, one of features they paid for right?

Same issue. Been maining a Warlock for 4 years, that character has access to the Recaster and the ability to target farm loot. Started a hunter last Sunday for the first time, no dice. I own all DLC's and seasons. I have 2 quests up to the "Decrypting The Darkness" quest line unable to finish, as well as the seasonal quest of decoding 6. I hear there is a third "Decrypting The Darkness" quests but I am unable to find it.

Have the same problem, I cant get decrypting the darkness quest, because of that I was locked out of important season quest chains like Legacy: Challengers proving and Legacy: Path of the splicer. Bungie you need it to sort it out.

I created a Hunter, and i'm stucked at this quest step since last week, i made a post about it a lot of people with the same problem and still they didn't fix... Can't do the last seasons quests, can't have battlegrounds playlist for pinnacle, and can't focus the engrams. Guess we have to wait until they fix this, save your umbrals.
