This seems like a ridiculous request, but the reality is, the PS5 Dualsense controllers don't have a great lifespan at all.
I've had two suffer from terrible joystick drift already since the release of the PS5 & had to send then back to get brand new replacements from Sony.
The turnaround time is anywhere from 10 days to 15 days, which leaves me with either:
- No controller & therefore no gaming for that time
- The same experience with a backup PS5 controller (I only have one controller & not buying a second one while the console is under warranty especially considering the low life cycle of these things)
- A backup PS4 controller
I have the backup PS4 controller , but this presents a new issue... I can't use the PS5 version of the game because it detects that I'm using a PS4 controller, so I have to downgrade to the PS4 version of the game if I want to keep playing.
Playing this game in 30FPS is absolute eye cancer after being so accustomed to the PS5 version. Running IB just now is an absolutely brutal, horrible experience.
Can you please put an option for 60fps in the settings for the PS4 version of the game, similar to how you do for 120hz mode.
Most people don't have 120hz screens, and won't for at least another year yet... But the option is still there on the PS5 version.
This whole issue with the PS4 version & 30fps comes from the Dualsense being so poorly made & is going to be a more prevalent issue going forward.
Not everyone is going to shell out the extra cash for backup Dualsense controllers that are likely going to break within 6 months anyway
This obviously wouldn't be an issue if the PS5 version just let us use DS4... I have vibration & all the Dualsense functions turned off anyway when I use the PS5 version so I don't see why the DS4 is locked out of it.

15 RepliesI don't understand. I got my PS5 essentially on release date and the controllers have not been a problem. I had one instance of stick drift, but it was my fault. I kept them in a place susceptible to dust and dog hair (It was not ventilated well and I have two Huskies). I then cleaned the controller and any and all issues went away entirely. Now I store it in a well ventilated area or a case. Not a single issue since, almost 10 months later. I also bought a second controller just in case, it has also had zero issues in the almost 10 months I've had it. My PS4 controllers lasted from PS4 release date to the summer of last year before irreparable stick drift set in. That is several years. At this point I'm convinced people don't keep good care of their stuff.

16 RepliesEdited by Infamous067: 9/2/2021 1:54:22 AMPs4 cant run 60fps, it would have been implemented otherwise. You should be asking sony to allow ps4 controllers on ps5 without sending you a gen backwards.

1 ReplyPS4 hardware can not cut the mustard without melting down. Just listen to the PS4 Pro at 30 fps ffs!
-
1 ReplyWould be better if they let use use the PS4 controller on the PS5 version of the game.

2 RepliesWhat on god's green earth is this rambling!? 🤣 PS5+ PS5 controller + D2 for PS5 = profit

Edited by DHawk12: 9/1/2021 1:56:04 PMThats not happening, not even for the ps4 pro. Although i hope it does happen so i can move back to the ps4 version to avoid next gen mm altogether.

Sounds a lot like a “not Bungie” issue to me
I can't use the PS5 version of the game because it detects that I'm using a PS4 controller, so I have to downgrade to the PS4 version of the game if I want to keep playing.
Seriously? Thats a thing? Wow, how bad is that? You should invest in an Xbox or a PC mate.

6 RepliesI guess you’ll just have to deal and adjust to what we’ve been dealing with on top of matching you kids on next gen so yeah I have no pity for you.

2 RepliesEdited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 8/31/2021 11:16:03 PMWhy wouldnt you just download the ps5 version on the ps5? Ive bad my controllers since the day it released i have no issues at all with either controller.

1 ReplyI'm on my fourth PS5 controller since November. These things are junk.

sounds like you need to hit up sony forums big bro

1 ReplyLol. Sony has blown backwards compatibility so badly. Who would have thought smart delivery and control compatibility would be the MVP features of this generation.
-
1 ReplyThe fact you can't use your ps4 controller for your ps4 unless you DOWNGRADE is ridiculous. You should be trying to get sony to change their stupid garbage designs over all else.

2 RepliesSimply put, the ps4 can't run destiny 2 at 60fps. The game can barely keep a steady 30fps on last gen consoles. Simply put, the ps4 and even ps4 pro aren't powerful enough to run a game like destiny at a consistent 60fps. And I know ill get the argument that other games can run at 60fps on ps4, well those games aren't destiny 2. Destiny 2 is poorly optimized and is built on a very dated engine. This paired with the low performance of both ps4 models, it just can't be accomplished. There is a reason why it hasn't been done, and its because it can't be done with a game like destiny.
