Can we hope that the problem will be resolved with the weekly update (tomorrow) or will we have to wait further?

Based on the words they chose, I'm guessing best case scenario is that we get it before this weekend. There's working on a fix. There's testing a fix. And then there's "figuring out how to best fix". That implies they've identified the problem and how to most easily fix it... but there's a reason that they don't want to go that route. Even more so, notice how they identified the problem as Windows 7 in the thread header, even though there have been reports by Win 10 people that this is affecting them as well? My suspicion is that this has turned into a Win 7 support "discussion" behind the scenes. Given the persisting cutscene FPS bug and how easy to trigger this bug was, my guess is that verifying Win 7 compatibility has not been part of their QC procedure for a while now. We've just been riding the coat tails of DX11, as it were. We didn't make too big a fuss, so they just let us tag along. Any noise we made in the past was as easily ignored as the actual issue. Now however, we're starting to get in the way of their plans for the future. An idle mind is the devil's complainground. :P

I fear the specific words they chose were affected by "public statement decorations". I think is safer to just read it as "figuring out how to fix it". in general with any solution an hot fix should have been already deployed, waiting for the best solution to be integrated later in time... but they are better with words than facts i suppose

  •
My suspicion is that this has turned into a Win 7 support "discussion" behind the scenes.
Possibly backstopped by a quiet thought: "If we retroactively drop our advertised support for Win7, how much will that cost us in payment-refunds and lost goodwill?"

Now would be the best time to do it, when everyone's attentions are crowded by the new season, other bugs that affect ingame stuff people are currently still playing, and hype for the next expansion. Just drop the announcement with a new trailer showing off the Gjallarhorn and new dungeon, and no one will even notice we're gone.

  • It's already been over a week and the last update we got, update #2 answer, was early last week...

  • Lack of a current update makes me think its not a quick, easy solution
