I'll list every post I found in the forums, including my own, here. The last update was that there won't be a fix before the weekend and it's Monday now, but that the source of the problems has been found. Since Friday morning there were no updates on this matter and for me personally, it is just painful to not be able to play content I paid for while others are able to enjoy it, while I'm also not sharp on missing the first week, it would be nice if there'd be any kind of update from Bungie's side of things. If it helps, I can even give more specifics to my own PC as to what parts I use and what OS I'm running, but since before Beyond Light, my PC had no problems running D2 at all, then after Beyond Light the Cutscenes started lagging and playing at 2 frames, and I had to skip most of them since the game would give an error for low framerates if I kept them playing.
Windows 7 is still listed as the supported OS, so that it now doesn't run at all is something that deeply upsets me as I love D2 and I love to play it, but I also currently don't have the money to be able to get me a new PC and I think I'm not the only one in that department.
I hope that this large post helps to give this issue more attention and that Bungie finds a fix soon.
Eyes up Guardian, we'll make it through this!

P.S.: If there are any posts missing or I've not seen yours, simply reach out to me and I'll add the link to this post.
P.P.S: Please don't throw any hate or harsh comments around, I get it that people are tired and want a fix, but hurling around hurtful words or just saying "Upgrade to Win10 then", is not going to help at all.

7 RepliesEdited by kazer: 8/30/2021 5:44:12 PMChill out, people! FFS be resonable! No doubt, beginning of this season is ruined and Bungo is slow, and insensitive to minorities(us, Win7 minority) within their community - we all agree on that! In any case they will fix the issue, and we all will be able to play. Win7 will stay as one of the supported systems. Everything will get back to normal, no need to upgrade or do anything... it just takes a little bit more time that we would want/expect, that's all. However badly Bungo messed up with this bug, let them finish, be patient. Screaming at and poking helps no one, only created more resistance and negativity. Man up! Stop being pathetic! Just let them finish.

Same here, I made a total of 3 thread's with a lot of trouble shoots listed, if anyone is having the same issues just check the thread https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/259532482 and save yourself the trouble of spending 3 nights trying to fix bungos mess. I'm having the issue on windows 10 and I thought it wasn't the win 7 issue but its basically the same thing. As a side note, I launched D2 on my brothers laptop (Acer Nitro 5) and it did launch but I wasn't getting over 15 fps so I just claimed my bounties and seasonal items so expect performance issues even if they fix this error.

I was able to play d2 during splicer s14 but since the s15 update i haven't been able to play, I get a referenced memory error and the game doesn't even launch. Im not sure if its because of battleeye or something else with the update cant figure out what it is? Also just wondering if ps4 controllers got any fixes on pc?

So here's the deal. Running Win10. Rx 580 16gig(maybe. Can't quite remember you'll see why soon) ryzen 5 1500x and at least 16 gigs ram. I had to take my PC in to get completely wiped by a professional. Told them the issue I was having. Pretty much everything that has been listed as going wrong has for me. They ran diagnostics on every single piece of my PC including stress testing. No a single problem they could find. Including an experiment of running a render program in 8k resolution. Still no failure. Whatever is going on with destiny right now. Is NOT a hardware problem for any of us. This is 100% from the recent updates and patch. I'd post a picture of the receipt to prove I'm not joking about completely wiping my hard drives to see if that fixed the issue. But because it's still in the shop and I'm typing from my phone, it'll have to wait. So far this dlc has cost me 120$ inside a week and I have yet to even play it. This goes well beyond ridiculous and deep into obscenely irresponsible from Bungie and a definitive lack of testing before releasing an update is wildly inappropriate from a AAA title creator and publisher. I'm still going to play but damn, literally every member of staff should be working overtime to fix this. Anything less is just lazy.

2 RepliesI have the same issue with win10. Tried pretty much every fix I could find on these forums/reddit/youtube with nothing working, only way I can play d2 on my pc is if I stream it from my xbox. This absolutely sucks. Doesn't help that bungo decided to say "we wont fix it over the weekend" Really hope this gets fixed soon :( PS: A lot of people are having this issue on win10, this issue is not only win7/8 users.

1 ReplyThanks for making this new thread. I have all the same problems like you do and I hope Bungie gives us an update.

7 Repliesi imagine bungie simply needs to update their website to reflect that windows 7 is no longer supported. let's face it, microsoft doesn't even support it anymore. that makes it a prime security threat that if microsoft is not going to support/patch any flaws that are found, would leave anyone still using it open to security threats. it needs to stop being supported actually.
